There has been one figure of stability in the last 14 years of political turmoil in the UK -- Larry, the Downing Street cat and Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office. The ageing tabby could be in line for his sixth prime minister after the UK votes in a general election on July 4, with opinion polls suggesting that he will oversee his first from the Labour Party.

00:38Larry's a civil servant, effectively.
00:40And yes, he's gone through, I think he's now
00:42to be sixth prime minister.
00:44So, he's certainly got a lot of longevity
00:46and if you consider some of his predecessors,
00:48cat predecessors,
00:50they've certainly not lasted as long as he has.
00:52I think his attitude's certainly changed
00:54and I think he's become more used to
00:56all of us in the media being around.
00:58So, I think certainly
01:00he's started to understand that
01:02he... we want him
01:04to pose for a photograph
01:06and then he may even do like an over the shoulder
01:08like a movie star might do.
01:10And that's something that
01:12I've never seen any cat do.
01:14He's just very aware of those sorts of things.
