00:00Hi, this is Ria for Derby World. I'm at the Costa at Wyvern Retail Park and I'm about to taste Costa's brand new golden caramel coffee.
00:14So this is freshly steamed milk with a caramel flavoured syrup with espresso finish with foamy milk.
00:22It just looks incredible actually. I've just had it made fresh. It's also got a drizzle of the caramel syrup on top. I'm diving in.
00:36It's really, really, really delicious. Hang on.
00:39I have a sweet tooth. This is perfect for me. I've not had to add any sweetened raw sugar in it. I love the texture of the milk.
00:55It feels like a bit of a dessert in a drink. I mean, I love caramel in all its guises, from salted caramel to traditional caramel. Hang on.
01:13It's not often a drink or a food item makes me smile and this does. This could maybe be a smile in a large cup of coffee.
01:29I just had to turn the camera around just so you can see the actual texture of the milk. It's just really beautiful. It's really thick and creamy.
01:44I love the way it's been texturised. I've learnt a new word then, the coffee jargon. And I just wanted to see you butcher, me butcher my coffee.
01:56But the actual syrup on top, it's got a slightly butterscotch note to it. It's really tasty.
02:07So I am midway through my golden caramel latte. I'm really enjoying it. Just a little bit of background on the drink.
02:19It's inspired by the Olympics which are going to be held in Paris between July 26th and August 11th. So that gives you a rough timeline of how long the golden caramel range will be on for.
02:50An important thing to note is that the golden caramel latte can be enjoyed hot or iced. I prefer my coffee hot so I've got the hot latte and I'm really enjoying it.
03:06So the syrup has been mixed really well with the foamed milk. I love the earthy notes on it as well. It's got quite toffee-ish. So if you like that flavour profile then the golden caramel latte is for you.
