00:30before the Senate heard on Wednesday about the construction of the new Senate building.

00:35He added that there is transparency and accountability in the project

00:39that was proposed by former Senate President Tito Soto and Accounts Committee Chairman Senator Ping Lackson.

00:45But Senate President Jesus Colero said that the construction of the new Senate building is not dependent on the hearing.

00:52The DPWH has a slowdown order.

00:54They also said that because the contractor and the DPWH are not in agreement

01:00regarding the defects that were made or not made properly or not enough.

01:05And because it was not paid, it also slowed down.

01:08So this is also one thing that we should consider and fix.

01:12The hearing is not the reason for the delay.

01:14It should be noted that Escudero spent 23 billion pesos on the new Senate building.

01:27How much will we spend to maintain that building?

01:33We will not just enter without a ticket.

01:35No matter how good it is, if it is not consensual,

01:38the cost of the construction of that building, I will not allow it.

01:43Escudero said that the Department of Public Works and Highways is the one explaining to the Senate,

01:48that's why he called for a hearing on Wednesday.

01:51Zubiri also said that the problem is that the construction was approved by the DPWH.
