00:00We're here at Holden's Brewery, and George Holden, you're the Willy Wonka of brewing in the black country.
00:07Yeah.
00:07What's your latest creation?
00:09Sunburst, an American pale ale.
00:12Cool, so tell us about it then, George.
00:14It's light, refreshing, and it's sessionable, so make sure to get some.
00:18That's a bit, he's been media trained, look.
00:22So, it is a bit different for you, isn't it, the craft beers? A bit of a new angle then, is this your project?
00:28Yeah, this is my project, so I've been working on this for the last six months.
00:31Yeah.
00:32Kind of create something fun, colourful, perfect for summer, and just a bit different to what we normally have really.
00:38Who comes up with the name, is that yourself?
00:40Yeah, I came up with the name myself, I helped with the graphic designer with the labels.
00:45Yeah.
00:46So between the two of us we managed to put it together.
00:48So where will these drinks be available then, where can people get hold of them?
00:51So you can get them in our shop on our site at Holden's Brewery, you can get them on our online shop.
00:56It's also available in some pubs in Cask, and trade off licences.
01:00So this will be like a special summer edition?
01:03Yeah, a special summer edition, we hope to bring out some more in the future.
01:07Cool, so how old are you then, George?
01:09I'm 19.
01:1019, so you've only legally been drinking for a year.
01:12Yeah.
01:13But you're making up for lost time now, aren't you?
01:15I've got to make up for lost time, yeah.
01:17So how does it work then, so you do a test brew, and then what, you have a taste, you give a taste to your dad, how does it work?
01:23Yeah, so Sunburst is a combination of five different kind of test brews.
01:28Yeah.
01:29So after each one we saw what we liked and we adapted the recipes.
01:35Okay, yeah.
01:36And then we just kept adapting and adapting until we were happy with the recipe.
01:40Yeah, so how long does that process take from initial conception then?
01:44From initial idea, this took us six months.
01:48Yeah.
01:49However, now we've got the ball rolling, we should be able to do it a bit more quicker.
01:54Cool.
01:55Going forward.
01:56So describe the taste then.
01:58I'm putting you on the spot here, you know, it's wet.
02:01Citrusy, kind of fruity on the nose, with some kind of delicate tropical fruit notes coming through.
02:08Yeah.
02:09And then when you go for the taste, it's got a nice smooth bitterness, again following that citrusy tropical fruit notes.
02:18This is like poetry, this is, George.
02:21That sounds delicious, to be fair, my friend.
02:23So we can expect a bit more along this line then.
02:27You know, obviously this is a new little venture for you, the craft stuff.
02:29Have you got other ideas bubbling away there then?
02:32Yeah, I do want to get a bit more creative with it, so hopefully going forward I can bring out some more interesting stuff
02:38that you don't see around here really.
02:40Fantastic, George.
02:41Thanks ever so much.
02:42No worries.
