Randy Skeete Q&A - Can I remarry if my Husband divorced me
Transcript
00:00All right, one more question, then we're done.
00:06One more?
00:07Okay, so we'll make this the final question.
00:11Good day.
00:12Happy Sabbath.
00:13All right.
00:14I am a married woman.
00:15Okay.
00:16I'm reading the question.
00:17Okay.
00:18I am a married woman that is baptized in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and my husband
00:23has betrayed me, and is in America, and he has an outside child, as well as is involved
00:29in several extramarital relationships.
00:33I would like to know if he divorces me in order to get his paper straightened, will
00:38I be free from that marriage contract?
00:41Can I marry again to another man?
00:44Thank you, and please pray for me and my children as I go through a hard time dealing with the
00:49betrayal and acceptance to move forward with my life.
00:53The answer is she is absolutely free to remarry.
00:56Yes.
00:57Now, God hates separation, divorce, you name it, Malachi 2.16, the Lord of Israel, he hates
01:03putting away, but he's given us provision.
01:05The condition is violation of the contract, yes, she's absolutely free to remarry, and
01:09the church recognizes that.
01:10Short answer, she is absolutely free.
01:12Now, I'm not promoting that.
01:15Calvary promotes reconciliation, but sometimes some situations are almost beyond reconciliation,
01:20reclamation, or redemption.
01:21All I'm saying is, biblically, she has the right to remarry, and based on our church's
01:27standards, she has the right to remarry.
01:28She's free.
01:29Assuming she did not do what her husband did.
01:31Yes, she's free, free as a bird, but every effort should be made to fix broken situations.
01:39Romans 12.18, if it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
01:44If anything needs peace, sometimes there's a lot of marriages that have no peace.
01:48As much as lieth in you.
01:51What she must be able to say is, I have done everything I could to save this thing, and
01:54I failed.
01:55I have done everything I could.
01:56If you can say that, you're perfectly free.
01:57Even if you don't say it, you're still free, but God will judge your heart.
02:00That's what I'm saying.
02:01Do everything you can to save.
02:04But you are free, yes, to remarry.
02:06If he dies, if he goes off and marries someone else, he is not free.
02:10He is not free, but you are, because he's defending one.
02:15The offending one must remain single all the days of his or her life.
02:19The innocent party can remarry, if reconciliation seems impossible.
02:25Some people are so damaged emotionally that it's better for them to just separate.
02:30You must not force on them.
02:31You have to say, we can't force that on people, because we don't know exactly what they're
02:35feeling and the depth of devastation we don't know.
02:38But the Bible provides, yes, this makes you free.
02:42God is sorry it has to happen, but you can remarry.
02:45And if that's what you choose, may the Lord grant you the happiness you didn't have.
02:49And may the Lord save that man, because God does not want to see anyone lost.
02:54All right, here ends the lesson, Sister Dr. Denisha.
02:58Thank you so much, Elder Skeet.
03:01What a time, what a time did we have together discussing the Word of God.
03:06I tell you, it was a sweet time.
03:08Thank you so much for your dedication.
03:11Thank you, Elder Skeet.
03:13May God continue to bless you, your wife, and your entire family.
03:18And may the light of the Lord continue to shine upon you.
03:22And may He renew or even change your strength, so that you will continue to work for the Lord.
03:29And I do pray and hope that you also get some physical rest.
03:32Yes, yes, I do, I do.
03:34My lovely sister, I do.
03:35Thanks for that.
03:36And may God bless you, all those who work with you in the work you do.
03:40I really like this program that God has placed on your heart to start and may it continue for a long while.
03:47And I hope those who tune in are blessed.
03:49Enlightened.
03:50If I was a little hard sometimes, forgive me.
03:52But sometimes...
03:53Anyway, may God bless all those who heard.
03:56And I want to encourage people, study the Bible.
03:59Many times I get questions by email, and I'm quite sure the person has not really made an effort.
04:04And sometimes I say, have you studied this for yourself?
04:07Bible study is fellowship with God.
04:09By not studying, you miss time with God.
04:12Bible study is fellowship with God personally.
04:16Don't just say the text is difficult.
04:18Try, study it, spend time.
04:21Ask the Spirit to open your mind.
04:22Compare this verse with that verse.
04:24Look up a particular word from Genesis to Revelation.
04:26It takes time, but the benefits are beyond calculation.
04:29Make an effort to study for yourself.
04:32That's when you get the spiritual growth.
04:35When the Spirit has spoken to you and you have seen it.
04:38And when God makes a revelation, I tell you, my listening friend, you don't want to jump and shout.
04:42You can't sit still.
04:43When the Spirit shows you something, it's an experience you must have.
04:47You don't get it by having someone else tell you, which has its place.
04:50But when the Holy Spirit shows you as a reward for your effort to learn, it's a tremendous experience.
04:58And you must not miss it.
04:59It only comes when we try to understand.
05:02And so thanks, Dr. Pershing, for this privilege to be a part of this very blessed program.
05:08God bless you and your studies.
05:11And may he use you to be a blessing to others.
05:14Thanks again.
05:15Amen.
05:17Thank you so much, Elder Skeet, for pronouncing that blessing.
05:20I claim it and receive it in Jesus' name.
05:23All right.
05:24Okay.
05:25So, you know, since I'm doing thanks, and Elder Skeet, we cannot thank you enough for your time and for your presence.
05:32We say thank you.
05:33We say thank you.
05:35I extend special thanks to also Brother Jonathan David Archie for asking the questions, adding commentary, being here.
05:42I know he's very busy, but he took time to be here.
05:46I thank God also and express thanks for Brother Kevin Gomez in advance for ministering our meditation song.
05:53Thank you, Brother Gomez, for taking this time out to be with us.
05:57And thank you in advance, Carissa Hunt, for doing the closing prayer.
06:02For all of you that are on right now that have been asking questions, putting your comments in the chat, thank you so much for spending this time with us.
06:10And I really do pray that you are not only blessed and enlightened, but that we've taken away some gems that we can apply to our lives and share with others.
06:19So feel free to share this word.
06:21This session has been livestreamed, so it's up on YouTube.
06:25It's up on Facebook.
06:27So you can share this link with your loved ones so that perhaps their questions would be answered, because we covered a lot of open forum questions.
06:36I also express thanks to my mom.
06:39Thank you, Mom, for your support, words of counsel and wisdom.
06:42And also to Cousin Arrow, who's on, who always assists with the technology and so forth.
06:49And I already said thank you to Sister Stacey-Ann, but thank you, Sister Stacey-Ann, for also moderating the chat.
06:55And all of you that are on, I could name friends with San and those of you that have been sharing the word.
07:00Thank you for your time and your presence.
07:03And by God's grace, we will meet again December 25th, so-called Christmas.
07:09That's what's being celebrated on that day by the world, December 25th at 2 o'clock p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
07:15We're having a Q&A, by God's grace, on Babylon, on Babylon.
07:20So this Sabbath, we spoke about the remnant church.
07:23Next month, the fourth Sabbath, God willing, we'll be speaking about Babylon.
07:28So I'm going to turn it over to you, Brother Gomez, to minister to us in song.
07:35And friends, as you listen to the words of the song, just meditate on, one, what the song is saying, and two, on things that we have learned today.
07:43We spoke especially about having a personal, indwelling, practical relationship with God, letting the word really work upon our hearts and upon our lives.
07:53You know, allowing God to change us so that we won't just be preaching the gospel with our lips, but we'll be preaching with our lives.
08:03So I pray that that will be on our thoughts and our minds as we go throughout not only the rest of the Sabbath day, but even our Christian journey.
08:12So, Brother Kevin Gomez, all over to you.
08:17Praise God, gentle Savior, lead me home.
08:22Thank you so much, Brother Gomez, for just outpouring your heart through that song.
08:28May our prayer be that God, our gentle Savior, even Jesus Christ, will lead us home.
08:35Sister Carissa, please take us to the throne of grace.
08:39All righty, let's bow our heads.
08:42Dear heavenly, wonderful Father, thank you, Lord, so much for this time that we had together, communing with you, fellowship in your word, getting into your word, and having our burning questions answered.
08:57We thank you so much for your Holy Spirit that guides us through these sessions.
09:02We thank you, Father, for your love and your care towards us there, Father.
09:07We pray for your help to love and obey your word and to keep your commandments.
09:13We know that when we obey that we will receive power from you.
09:18Please make a way for us to obey you in all things.
09:22Some things may look how we, sometimes we may be perplexed on how to obey you with a certain situation.
09:29But, dear Father, you are able to make a way.
09:31Please make a way for us and help us to walk in the way that you have made.
09:36With any idols that are in our lives, that are taking the place of you, we pray that you help us to turn away from them and help us to surrender to you completely, dear Lord.
09:48Thank you for the joy, the power, the security, and the insurmountable blessings that we receive through obedience.
09:56We pray for an outpouring of your Holy Spirit in each of us, each individual listening and our families, that we may bear good fruit and be a witness for Jesus Christ, spreading the gospel.
10:08Please continue to be with each individual and family member represented.
10:12Continue to guide us as we occupy in work and school and ministry and in our homes.
10:19We pray that you bless this session and the ones to come so that it could be a witness and it could share your truth, dear Lord.
10:28Help us to stand for your truth.
10:30Continue to prepare us for eternity.
10:32Bless each person listening, each household, everyone who has tuned in and who will tune in.
10:38And we pray to meet again.
10:40In Jesus' name I pray.
10:41Amen.
10:45Amen. Amen.
10:46Amen. Amen.
10:47Thank you so much, Sister Carissa and Lord.
10:50We say thank you to you for making this possible.
10:53Thank you again, all of you that have tuned in, participated, posed your questions, even shared the message.
