00:00This is a public service announcement. You might not want to make your bed as soon as
00:04you wake up and the reason is kind of gross. Dust mites. These creepy crawlies are microscopic
00:08insect-like pests that feed off human skin cells. They love hanging out in fabrics and
00:12textiles and they love humid environments. What's a moist humid environment with a lot
00:17of fabric in your house? Your bed. And most people sweat on average at least two cups
00:22of fluid a night, making your bed their ideal home. You don't want that because dust mites
00:27can actually cause allergy symptoms like coughing and sneezing and even asthma attacks.
00:32So yeah, as soon as you wake up, just let your sheets air out for at least 30 minutes
00:35so that sweat can evaporate. If you're the kind of person who really needs to make your
00:38bed as soon as possible for whatever reason, that's totally cool. Just stay on top of your
00:42hygiene game and wash your sheets at least once a week and use a mattress protector.
00:45I want to know, are you the kind of person who needs to make your bed immediately? Do
00:49you like to let it sit for a while or do you just never make your bed at all? No judgment.
