00:00Are you choosing a staycation or are you going abroad on holiday this year? During the coronavirus
00:06pandemic when foreign travel was banned and then strictly regulated, the Great British
00:10staycation truly had its day. Millions of us explored the wonders of a break not so
00:15far from home. From brilliant beaches and seaside towns to big bustling city breaks,
00:19we have a bit of everything in the UK. But are those days behind us? The cost of living
00:24and perhaps the unpredictability of the British weather has meant that more Brits are choosing
00:28to holiday abroad than stay on home turf this year. Analysis has found that for a week-long
00:33break for two in places like Turkey, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus, they'll set you
00:38back around £750. Meanwhile, for the same week, two bedlets in places like Devon, Margate
00:44and Whitby can cost anywhere between £1,000 and £3,100. While cost is a factor, there's
00:50something to be said for not having to get on a plane though, especially with headlines
00:54dominated by long airport queues, flight delays and cancellations in recent weeks. So what
00:59are the pros and cons of staycations and foreign holidays for you? And which do you prefer?
