00:00Charlie, on to Wolves now. Obviously looking at their transfer situation, they made an
00:06early sort of statement deal with Rodrigo Gomez, maybe a long-term sort of Pedro Neto
00:12replacement, possibly even short-term if he's to leave in this window or the upcoming windows.
00:18I mean, looking at him at the Euros that start with Pedro Neto on an incredible season despite
00:24being injured so much, came on for Portugal, was completely cut in one of their games
00:29with an assist, probably added 20 or so million to his price tag. I mean, how do you see the
00:35sort of Pedro Neto situation going for him and the club this summer?
00:40There are enough clubs in the Champions League positions that would take him, especially
00:44if he's available for 40, 50, 60 million pounds. That's probably a snip in the current market
00:48considering how good he is. He's not quite hit his potential yet. As you said, for Portugal,
00:52what a vital assist that was, getting down the byline, cutting it back and scoring an
00:56important goal. I just don't think Wolves can turn down that kind of money, as you say,
01:01for someone who's constantly out with hamstring problems and isn't that reliable. We saw that
01:06with Jota, as you said, Mateus Nunes, maybe not injuries, but wasn't consistent enough.
01:11Manchester City came in, spent, what, 50, 60 million pounds on him. It's a big cash
01:15injection that Wolves need if Gary O'Neill wants to make his own mark on the squad.
01:21Another big bit of transfer business is Max Killman potentially leaving. Now, he didn't
01:25miss a single minute, did he, for Wolves last season? If he did miss any minutes, then very
01:30few. Such an important player, obviously, the captain in defence as well. Vital for
01:34the system, whether it's in a back three or a back four. It's talked that West Ham and
01:38Newcastle have both seen bids rejected so far. West Ham, I think it was 25 million to
01:43start with, and then maybe 30, and then plus a player, I believe I saw, and then Newcastle
01:49offering similar, plus Elliot Anderson. These aren't the kind of figures that Wolves are
01:53going to accept, but you've got to feel, if enough money is offered, they might well
01:56let him go.
01:57Obviously, how important Killman, Neto, they were to Wolves' success last season, for the
02:04bulk of it anyway. How important are these key players that they keep hold of them? Obviously,
02:09there's the likes of Mario Lamina and Gio Gomez as well, but players like that, it's
02:14so important to be around the camp for Gary O'Neill's confidence.
02:17It's great to have the star names and the difference makers, but to have a few of them
02:22still around, I think you can't afford to let a couple go. I think the most important
02:26thing, as we saw at the tail end of the last season, is having a squad, having that depth
02:30to be able to deal with challenging periods, especially in the start of the year. I mean,
02:35Wolves in contention for Europe maybe in December, January, February time, and then it starts
02:39to kick on, get a few more players injured, and Gary O'Neill mentioned so many times just
02:43not having the depth, having to play academy players, putting them on the bench.
02:47Obviously, we like to see academy players breaking through, but not in the tail end
02:51of a Premier League season when there are important points at play, and then the season
02:54kind of fizzled out. So, I think they need to get a bit of a balance there and find what
02:58their priorities are.
