The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) said it is committed to ensure the safety and well-being of Filipino seafarers around the world as it celebrated the Day of the Filipino Seafarer on Tuesday, June 25.

Marina Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan said that Filipino seafarers are the “backbone of global maritime industry”.
