00:28to Lime Street station was chosen by a jury as the very worst new building in Britain
00:33to be built since the annual prize was last awarded in 2018.
00:37The modern redevelopment replaced a row of buildings dating back more than a century,
00:41including the Georgian façade of the old Futurist Cinema and featured sheet metal cladding
00:45etched with images of the buildings that once stood there.
00:48Completed in 2019, Lime Street redevelopment designed by Broadway Malay and topped a publicly
00:53nominated shortlist of six, which included another of the city's buildings, the new
00:57Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
