00:00An interesting matchup this week in Cleveland between the
00:06Guardians and the Mariners. The two other teams that are atop
00:09their division in the American League. The Guardians in the AL
00:12Central, Seattle in the American League West. The M's continue
00:15to be the only team with a winning record in the American
00:19League West and Seattle continues to win baseball games.
00:22Victory yesterday in their opener in the land against the
00:25Guardians eight to five. Big game for JP Crawford. A couple
00:29of RBIs, Seattle DRS. They won four in a row and they've also
00:33won eight of their last nine. Eight to five, the victory over
00:36Cleveland. Yeah, so changing my opinion here over the past
00:39couple of weeks on the Mariners where I just thought it was
00:41like, okay, eventually somebody like Texas is going to overtake
00:43them because I don't think the Mariners are all that good. Do
00:45I think they're great right now? No, but they're playing
00:47quality baseball, getting good starts out of their pitchers
00:49and getting some timely heading like you bring up JP Crawford
00:51three RBI yesterday, which includes a home run. His name
00:54has been popping up in the highlights over the past week
00:56and a half, but also it's still the batting 208 as a leadoff
00:59hitter, but we broke this game down yesterday. It was pretty
01:01simple. You're taking a look at really a coin flip game where
01:04you just take the plus money with Seattle was, but also the
01:07pitcher on the mound, Tristan McKenzie, one of those high
01:09expert minus guys only last two and a third innings pitch four
01:12earned runs and four walks just letting you know he was all
01:15over the place and giving everything up. That's a good
01:17win for the Seattle Mariners. I'm not out of the Guardians
01:19are going to win that division. The question is going to be for
01:22me, not the Guardians, but what is Seattle really made of
01:24because nobody it looks like is going to be able to give them a
01:27charge out there in the West and I just want to see how they
01:30progress through the summer and also sometimes we talk about
01:32the Yankees, which I brought up yesterday. You're in a close
01:34race with the Baltimore Auras. If you were seven and a half or
01:37eight and a half games up, Brian Kass was like, hey, we're cool
01:39right now. We'll let things settle in. We don't have to
01:40make any moves. What did the Seattle Mariners do with the
01:43deadline is like, okay, we're going to make the playoffs to
01:45win this division. We seem like a solid team or do they make
01:47moves to get extra players, pitchers and hitters on that
01:50ballclub. I like what I see out of the Mariners and I wasn't
01:52all that impressed about a month ago.
