01:02Developed by these senior high school students from Bulacan,

01:05Project Feet is the answer to making chinellas out of plastic recycling and reuse.

01:11It's not just environment-friendly slippers, it's also energy-producing.

01:16No wonder it bagged the gold medal in the 2020 World Robot Olympiad.

01:22We thought of inventing or innovating a project that aims to fight climate change.

01:27Project Feet is a 3-in-1 global solution.

01:30It can recycle plastics, provide footwear for people, and of course, generate electricity.

01:41Made from Lego Technic elements and controllers,

01:44Project Feet is made of plastic shredder and slipper mold.

01:48Chinellas is equipped with power-generating features

01:51that can accumulate energy as you walk.

01:56Since this is a small scale, the sizes vary for kids.

02:02That's why we're planning to make a bigger one.

02:05We are planning to make a bigger invention like this

02:10so that we can start our goal of providing slippers

02:14and also electricity for the people.

02:18As of now, Project Feet is patented

02:20as one of the proud innovations of the Philippine Robotics National Team.

02:24I'm holding one of the types of plastic that Project Feet receives.

02:29We place it here.

02:31It has a slot at the top of the machine.

02:35As you can see, it goes straight to the shredder.

02:39After shredding, it goes straight to the mold.

02:44Once the plastic reaches the mold,

02:47we have a heating component at the bottom to melt the plastic

02:52and, of course, to form our footwear.

02:57After almost three hours of the process of Project Feet,

03:01this is our result.

03:14My fellow Filipinos,

03:15our high school students have done a great job with Project Feet

03:20with the intention of helping out our fellow Filipinos

03:23to make an invention that creates footwear

03:26and at the same time, generates energy.

03:29This is the kind of invention we should be supporting

03:32and we hope to see a bigger version,

03:34a bigger functioning version in the future.
