00:00Racism has no place in society, it has no place in our industry.
00:10Football's racism row has erupted again.
00:13I'll continue to stand up.
00:16This is unacceptable.
00:17We're doing it because it's black.
00:18It's a bit of a joke.
00:19It's their voice.
00:20We are racist.
00:21It's shocking.
00:22The backlash intensified.
00:23Strangled.
00:24He knew why it was happening.
00:25We need to talk about this.
00:26You get what you wish for.
00:27Suddenly, it wasn't just Adam Goodes the footballer, he was Adam Goodes the angry Aboriginal.
00:37My mum is Indigenous, my dad is Irish-Scottish.
00:41Growing up, I actually didn't know what it meant to be an Indigenous person.
00:47Suddenly, for Adam, here was a history of invasion, of shooting, of separating children.
00:54I don't think most Australians understand what is racist and what isn't.
01:00Casual racism is there, it's alive and it's flourishing in our communities.
01:07All anyone ever wants is to be respected for who you are.
01:10The 2014 Australian of the Year, Adam Goodes.
01:16I believe racism is a community issue.
01:20It's remarkable, it gives you goosebumps.
01:23That's why racism stops with me.
01:25That, to me, was the moment that summed him up.
01:32It's important that we give courage and voice to those people who do want to stand up.
01:38Adam Goodes, if you're watching, this is for you.
01:43The more I learned about what it meant to be Aboriginal, the more proud I got.
01:50He's a champion, and he always will be a champion, goodsy.
01:56My hope for him is that he can show others that there's a path from the worst of Australia
02:04to the best of Australia.
