00:00We have to work together. I've made that perfectly clear for months now that both Governments have to work together for three reasons.
00:06One is it's the only way we can deliver the change that people are demanding.
00:09Secondly, all the social attitude surveys and everything else shows that people just want Governments of whatever colour to work together.
00:15And the third thing is the Tories and SNP have played off each other by having this conflict constantly for the last 10 or 15 years.
00:21And that's been to the detriment of Scotland and the detriment of the Scottish people.
00:24I'm determined that that change isn't from day one. I'm determined the relationship is better.
00:29I'm determined to work together because that's the only way we can deliver.
00:32And you've talked about having a turbocharged Scotland office.
00:35Absolutely. We want the turbocharged Scotland office not only to be listening to people in Scotland but to be Scotland's window to the world.
00:41To be Scotland's voice at Westminster. To be championing Scotland around the Cabinet table.
00:45And delivering the UK Labour Government's manifesto in Scotland is an incredibly exciting opportunity and I'm right up for the job.
00:52How's the campaign in Edinburgh going for Labour?
00:54It's going really well. I mean we've shown today that we've spoken to a quarter of a million people across Scotland since the 1st of January.
01:01And 120,000 on people's doors since the 30th of May when Parliament dissolved and the formal election started.
01:06Of course we're doing tens of thousands in Edinburgh as well, going door to door, taking that positive message for change.
01:11And that's the feedback we're getting from people on the doorsteps all over Edinburgh, including in Edinburgh South.
01:15They're demanding change. They want change. They're fed up with 17 years of SNP and 14 years of Tory government.
01:21And we're determined to speak to them on their doorsteps, have that conversation and deliver that change if we're lucky enough and humble enough to get into government.
01:27And you think you'll be able to win some more seats here?
01:30Well, not a vote has been cast yet, although votes might start to fall next week when the postal votes come in.
01:34But look, we're fighting for every single vote. Seats are in play, of course they're in play.
01:38The opinion polls tell us that. We take nothing for granted, which is why all of our candidates right across Edinburgh are working incredibly hard in order to take that message to the doorsteps.
01:46And the positive feedback is very encouraging.
