The band of rain across Scotland gradually moves southwards over northern England through the evening and overnight, with scattered showers across parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. Away from the showers and rain, it will be a fairly clear night for southern England and Wales with more widespread cloud across northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. – This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 16/06/24. 00:00Hello there. A bit of a north-south split in the weather today. Plenty of rain across
00:04Scotland which is moving into northern England and sunny spells and showers elsewhere. That
00:09rain will continue to push its way into northern parts, generally turning patchier as the evening
00:14progresses, turning drier across Scotland with some showers feeding into the far north.
00:18But the driest of the weather is going to be across southern parts of Wales, central
00:22and southern England and that's where we'll see plenty of clear spells overnight. We may
00:26even start to see some mist and fog develop by the time we reach the morning. And under
00:30those clear spells, that's where it's generally going to be a bit cooler compared to recent
00:33nights. But where that cloud sticks around in the north, that's generally where it's
00:37going to be a milder night on offer. Now, as we head through into Monday, it's generally
00:42going to be quite an unsettled picture. Plenty of sunny spells and showers developing across
00:47most of the north of the country. And in the northeast, these showers could be heavy at
00:51times. You may even hear the odd rumble of thunder. The driest and brightest of the weather
00:55is going to be across the far south and southeast and that's where we'll see the best of the
00:59temperatures too. Highs of around 22, maybe even 23 Celsius where we see that sunshine
01:05pick through the cloud. Now, as we head into Tuesday, we do have an area of high pressure
01:11building into the Atlantic, which is gradually moving its way towards the UK. So Tuesday
01:17should be a largely drier day for many of us. However, low pressure still to the northeast,
01:21which means a cloudier picture here. We'll start to see some showers feed into Scotland
01:26and then later on into the northeast of England, where once again they could be heavy. Perhaps
01:30the odd rumble of thunder too. But otherwise, a largely drier day with some sunny spells.
01:34We may just start to see some rain creep into the far southeast though. But once again,
01:39the southeast catching the best of the temperatures. Highs of 22 once again may even see 23 Celsius
01:44where the sunshine pokes through. Of course, if you want any further updates on the weather,
