00:00I'm Jane Cole, the Managing Director for Blackpool Transport, and today is a really important day for not just Blackpool Transport, but for the town itself and for the Foulcoast.
00:12It's absolutely wonderful that we've achieved the tramway extension now into Blackpool North Station.
00:18It's another archery into the town centre.
00:21It's very important that we can actually, in this world of blue planet, sustainable transport, put our mark on the ground and say that we are now able to invite people to arrive by train and use public transport as a means to get round right from the train station.
00:37As you can see, all around here, Blackpool is booming. We've had lots of investment. It's unprecedented, the amount of investment that's going in at the moment.
00:47So 20 million visitors every year, 2 million arriving by train every year. What a great opportunity to bring people onto the tramway so that they can use public transport and use it as a means to integrate from tram to bus whilst they're here and reduce the emissions in the town.
01:07So, yeah, it's a great, great thing for the town.
