00:00The clue is in the question, you know, pubs and the name.
00:03The pubs are public places and they're one of our few public places
00:07that are still left open, where people from all walks of life
00:10can come together and rub shoulders.
00:13You know, everyone's equal.
00:15And it allows us to connect with friends, family and neighbours.
00:17And we're saying they play a vital role socially, helping social isolation,
00:22loneliness. You know, we saw a lot of people where the pub was a lifeline
00:26for them in Covid times when it was shut.
00:29You know, having to stay at home without friends and family to connect to.
00:33And we're saying recognise the overall wellness that a pub can bring to the UK
00:38and social sort of wellness and recognise that and invest in them.
00:42We're not fully recovered.
00:45So although we might think we're back to normal, many pubs,
00:48many breweries are still operating at less than 90% of their sort of pre
00:52pandemic sort of trading levels.
00:54And on top of that, we've got a lot of cost inflation,
00:57a lot of additional costs that are increasing.
