Donald Trump clearly isn't afraid of Swifties ... expressing a fearless stance on Taylor Swift's physical appearance and political beliefs -- which seem to have the guy conflicted.

00:00Taylor Swift and Donald Trump, two people you wouldn't think that would be coming together.
00:05And they're not.
00:06And they're not.
00:07They're not at all.
00:08But I think, surprisingly, Donald Trump had some really positive things to say about Taylor
00:14Swift.
00:15The reason I say surprising, he's already gone on a – he was expecting her to come
00:20out and endorse President Biden, just as she did last time around.
00:24She has not endorsed anyone at this point.
00:26So maybe that explains what Donald Trump said about Taylor in a new book that's out
00:32about his time on The Apprentice.
00:34It's called Apprentice in Wonderland.
00:36He was speaking to the author in November and was asked about Taylor Swift.
00:40This is what he had to say.
00:42You can start counting how many times he uses a particular word.
00:45I think she's beautiful.
00:46Very beautiful.
00:47I find her very beautiful.
00:49I think she's liberal.
00:50She probably doesn't like Trump.
00:52I hear she's very talented.
00:54I think she's very beautiful, actually.
00:57Unusually beautiful.
01:00So can I – can I – can I quote –
01:02Reading that, by the way, it sounds like the guy who plays him on SNL.
01:05Like, that was just one of the – like, they're one and the same almost.
01:09I'm going to quote one of my favorite singers, because I think this makes the point.
01:16You don't step on Superman's cape.
01:18You don't spit into the wind.
01:20You don't pull the mask of the Olon Ranger.
01:22And you don't mess around with Taylor Swift.
01:25And the Swifties.
01:26Because of the Swifties.
01:27Right.
01:28And all of the people she can marshal.
01:29And I think that is part of that.
01:30It is kind of a stepping back – it's sort of like – they're backpedaling a bit, right?
01:34Because you remember there was a whole thing that people in Trump's camp had said they
01:38didn't care about Taylor Swift's endorsement.
01:40They said that last fall.
01:42And maybe this feels like he's just trying to walk it back a little bit and say, eh,
01:46let's not.
01:47I don't think – I think he knows.
01:48Ruffle those feathers.
01:50That is the power of Taylor Swift.
01:51That if he says something very negative about her, even Trump, as bulletproof as he is to
01:57everything else, you don't want to mess with the Swifties.
02:00Because remember when Meryl Streep criticized him, he called her the most overrated actress
02:03in Hollywood.
02:04He has no problem going after people that he does not like.
02:07But Taylor Swift?
02:08I hear she's talented, he says, which is the best he can do.
02:11He hears she's talented.
02:12But the other thing is, it's not so much that you don't want to mess with them just generally.
02:17You don't want to mess with them because it would then motivate them to go out and
02:20vote.
02:21And I think that's the concern.
02:24The fact that he gets that, because he usually is not that generous.
02:28Right.
02:29There's no danger that Swifties are going to vote for him.
02:31I don't think he's trying to sway her fan base.
02:34But the thing is, he wants to keep them, at best, apathetic.
02:36You know?
02:37They don't care as much.
02:38But if they get fired up against him, they're going to mobilize, because that's what they
02:41do.
02:42Exactly right.
02:43And he doesn't want her – never mind the Swift – I mean, he doesn't want Taylor
02:45to come out and say something which would also motivate the Swifties.
02:49But also, it's not a fight he can win.
02:53He is really making inroads with young people.
02:59And he wants to make sure that the people who are on Biden's side, who are young, just
03:05don't go to the polls, because this election is going to be based on who goes to the polls.
03:08Who shows up.
03:09Right.
03:10Yeah.
03:11And so if Taylor Swift were able to mobilize –
03:12Yeah.
03:13You can't give them bulletin board – bulletin board material.
03:17We called it sports.
03:19I know that.
03:20You know, in the locker room, you put something up and say, oh, look what they said about
03:22us.
03:23I know that.
03:24Guys, as a Swifty, if she endorsed Donald Trump, I don't know.
03:30I might, I might, I might do it.
03:32It would make you think about it, at least, right?
03:34And which is all he would need, but she's not going to.
03:37But she might not endorse Biden, though.
03:40It's Donnie from Dallas, Texas.
03:42I, in my opinion, I think that Taylor probably doesn't care much about what Trump has to
03:47say about her.
03:48We have known him to always deduce women to their appearance, so I was not surprised either
03:53by that comment.
03:54But just like my girl said, I think that she, that her audience is going to be more concerned
03:58about what she has to say about him versus what he has to say about her.
04:02I don't know that Taylor Swift is necessarily going to get involved in this election.
04:08I don't know, because she supported Biden last time.
04:11Because young people are so split now on Israel, where there's kind of apathy over Biden and
04:18all, I don't know that she's going to do it.
04:20She may.
04:21But, you know, she's very intentional about her fan base.
04:26And I think that fan base is split.
04:28And I don't know if she wants to-
04:29I think it would be really strange if she doesn't endorse someone this time around.
04:33Because she made such a point the last time about how important it is to get out there
04:38and vote.
04:39You can't suddenly say it's not important.
04:40She could say, go ahead and get out and vote.
04:42She may not endorse a specific candidate.
