00:00 There's a new attraction in Intramuros that will open on Wednesday,

00:04 while celebrating the Independence Day.

00:07 Here's the news from Darlene Kay.

00:09 Intramuros is one of the most historical places in the Philippines.

00:16 Every week, 50,000 tourists come here to march and throwback.

00:22 And starting June 12, or on the day of Independence Day,

00:26 a new attraction will be held here.

00:29 Centro de Turismo Intramuros, an interactive museum and tourist center.

00:34 The intention is to go back to our roots, learn the history of Intramuros.

00:39 The center was built in the former San Ignacio Church that was destroyed during World War II.

00:43 In this guided tour, we will tell the history of Manila.

00:46 You will also see ancient buildings and ancient religious images.

00:51 There are also QR codes that you can scan on your cell phone.

00:55 Here, you can watch educational videos to learn other important information while you tour the museum.

01:04 We wanted to be an immersive experience for all our visitors.

01:08 The sculpture of the famous artist Leroy New is also included,

01:12 as the artistic representation of the galleon or ship used in the early days for the parade.

01:19 First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos supported Centro de Turismo Intramuros that visited on Thursday.

01:25 And actually, that's a special request of the First Lady.

01:28 She wants Filipino people to have a place where it's interactive

01:33 and something that we can showcase to the world that we have something like this.

01:38 It's free for everyone.

01:40 Starting on Wednesday, this Centro de Turismo Intramuros is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm.

01:46 Next to the center is the Museo de Intramuros.

01:49 The area of an old convent of Jesuits is around 75 pesos.

01:55 Some of the original structures like the water tank and water well are still here.

02:00 There are also various artifacts, paintings, and collections of saints.
