AccuWeather forecasters say the earliest we might see the first tropical system of 2024 is mid-June, but downpours will be prevalent in the Caribbean before then.

00:00 Well, speaking of moisture in the tropics, we certainly are finding a little bit more of that.
00:04 We already know the warm water temps are there and this time of year if we're looking for tropical
00:09 development, we don't have to go far. We don't go to Africa or Central Atlantic. We often are
00:15 looking close to home. And it's a pretty particular pattern that you need here as we look at,
00:20 we need to see those storms kind of sitting over the Gulf of Mexico into the Caribbean for at least
00:24 48 hours. So if it's able to really develop, we're calling it a low development potential for right
00:29 now. It would be later into next week, June 12th into the 16th. Yeah, so that's what we're setting
00:33 our sights on. Central Gulf into the Northern Caribbean. There's already some moisture there.
00:38 The question is if we get a little bit more, that jet stream comes down just as Ariella was talking
00:42 about, that will lead to the wet weather potential. So even if we see something develop or not,
00:47 the story is really about the rainfall, which isn't a bad thing in Florida. Yeah, we're still
00:52 dealing with ongoing drought conditions. So beneficial to the environment, not great for
00:56 travel and plans to be outside, something you want to keep close eyes on through next week.
