00:39 "I think they got caught up in the moment. We watched them fall in love. They bonded that
00:44 first night on that date. It was real." "A date in a diner with someone that I had a
00:50 good start with is kind of like going home."
00:53 "Gary's a nice guy. Teresa's a lovely lady. You know, s*** happens. Sorry. It does. And
00:59 we like them both. But, you know, I'm sorry. You know someone a month or six weeks

01:09 "Going into the show I thought, 'It's not possible. You have to follow your heart.'"
01:14 The Bachelor franchise's first golden couple shocked the world in April
01:18 when they called it quits after just three months of marriage.
01:22 They opened up on ABC's Good Morning America about their decision to part ways.
01:26 "Teresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations and we've looked closely at our
01:34 situation, our living situation and so forth. And we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually
01:39 that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage."
01:45 And Susan, who officiated their January nuptials,
01:49 claims location played a big factor in the couple's divorce.
01:53 "Teresa decided not to move and not to quit her job. I frustrated. Who can blame them? I would
02:01 have never said I would move to that place. However, that is in the middle of nowhere."
02:06 Yeah, all that backed up by what Gary told GMA about their house hunting that never came to be.
02:11 "And we just looked at homes after home, but we never got to the point where
02:16 we made that decision."
02:17 "Did you fall out of love?"
02:19 "No, no. I still love this person. There's no doubt in my mind. I still am in love with her.
02:26 I root for her every day."
02:28 And when ET sat down with the couple shortly after their engagement,
02:32 they seemed set on a move to South Carolina.
02:34 "On the first date, he spoke to me about possibly moving to the Charleston area and I said,
02:41 'Well, wow, I have a son who lives in South Carolina.' I said, 'That would work.' But it
02:45 wasn't until the fantasy suite that the conversation came back to that and he realized. And so,
02:50 South Carolina is probably where we're going."
02:53 While things didn't work out for Gary and Teresa, there's still hope as all eyes are on the first
02:59 Golden Bachelorette. Earlier this month, Joan Vasos, who self-eliminated on Jerry's season to
03:04 spend time with her daughter, who was dealing with a medical issue, was announced as the first-ever
03:09 woman to lead the Golden franchise.
03:11 "I'm Joan and I'm your first Golden Bachelorette."
03:15 It's Joan's turn now, but Susan's also open to taking on the role one day.
03:19 "Can I say hell yeah?"
03:21 "Hell yeah!"
03:22 "Give me 20 or 22 men, I'm bound to fall in love with a couple of them."
