00:00Hi OG, I'm Ulysses. We're here in Tanay, Rizal and welcome to our Tuscan-inspired house.
00:17Welcome to Toscana de Tanay. It's a Tuscan-inspired house. So what makes it a Tuscan design?
00:24It's actually these rocks that we use for the exterior of the whole house.
00:29It's made of limestone and fortunately this was very abundant here in this area. So
00:36we saved a lot of money because we just gathered the stones and stick it on the wall and we did
00:43the grouting using a pastry bag. So that way you can make a clean finish so it's easier to
00:53make the exterior nice.
01:00It was very challenging to attach the limestone rocks to the walls especially
01:07when you have to bring the rocks up high. The property is two hectares big
01:14and the house is 200 square meters floor area.
01:22I would like to tour you around the house so let's go inside.
01:30So we're inside the house
01:36and I would like to show you the scale model that I made after doing the drawings.
01:43I constructed the scale model using a sintra board and this helps me visualize my vision
01:51of the house and also help me explain to the workers. Since I'm not a contractor
01:57this is a big help for my project.
02:05When we saw this property we immediately fell in love with the place. The weather is cool and the
02:13view is amazing. At that time the price was still very reasonable. That was in the year 2020. It was
02:22a good investment on our part also. So here in the house we have five bedrooms. The first bedroom has
02:34two full-size beds and all the remaining four rooms have queen-size beds.
02:50We use a lot of machuca tiles in this house to incorporate the European look that I like.
02:57So you can see those tiles in our living room, dining, toilets and baths, our bedrooms
03:05and the backsplash of our kitchen.
03:14When we bought the property they were still fixing the Raritan-Makaira road leading to this place
03:23and they were cementing the road and widening it. So besides there was a mountain that they
03:30had to chip off and fortunately it was made of the limestone that I was looking for.
03:36And we saw them dumping it everywhere so we told them why don't you just dump it here.
03:43So it was a big thing because we didn't really pay for anything for the cost of the rocks.
03:53What I love about this house is the view from this lanai. You can see the beauty of the
04:06Sierra Madre mountain range and experience the sea of clouds in the mornings and the cool mountain
04:12weather. Here when you visit Toscana de Tanay we have a river which is around 200 meters high.
04:24It's very nice there.
