00:18 Hello Rastoneri and welcome to Casa Milan Studios.
00:21 We are ready for the last episode of this season of our AC Milan Talk.
00:26 We are ready with all the goings on of our favourite club.
00:30 It's also time to take stock and find out all the Rastoneri awards of this season.
00:36 But let's not waste any more time.
00:38 Welcome to my two guests. Welcome to Adriano Del Monte. Hi Adriano.
00:41 Ciao Licia, great to see you and very much looking forward to this episode.
00:45 And welcome to Sheridan Bird. Hi Sheridan.
00:47 Hi Licia, hi Adriano. It's going to be a lovely review of the season. I'm very excited.
00:51 Some important big news for our Rastoneri and plenty of emotions.
00:56 So get ready. Let's start with our men's first team.
00:59 [Music]
01:06 The Serie A season for our Rastoneri ends with a draw against Alernitana.
01:11 A bittersweet result but that can never cancel out all the emotions and beautiful moments of this season.
01:19 But talking about the pitch topics, what about this match Adriano?
01:23 Obviously a very emotional way to finish this season. So many farewells we'll get into very shortly.
01:29 Second place secured. It had a festive feel about it. It did have that end of season feel.
01:35 But obviously there was an advantage early for the team.
01:38 In the end you can see 3-3. I guess exciting on paper for the neutral, not the result we wanted.
01:43 But it was definitely a strange night in a nice way because there was so much emotion inside Sutton City.
01:52 You can see there confirmation of the final standing, 75 points.
01:55 A second place finish for Mr Pjoli and this team.
02:00 It's hard to analyse a match like this when there was a lot of focus on those that were departing the club.
02:07 And I guess the end of what has been a very special cycle in this club's rich history.
02:12 So in the end of course disappointment but it was all about those that were departing and giving them a fine farewell.
02:20 The season ends with a second place finish. A positive result for our club.
02:26 But dear Sheridan, you've been waiting for it. The wait is almost over because the new home kit for next season
02:34 made its debut on Saturday night at San Siro.
02:38 Very stylish. I really thought it looked good. Obviously all the modern technology so it's the best thing for the world's best athletes.
02:46 I really liked the return to the white shorts and the white socks of the Arrigo Sacchi era.
02:52 Excuse me, I'm so emotional. But it was a really good outing for the new kit.
02:58 And it was, as Adriano said, the match itself. Shame that they weren't able to keep a clean sheet.
03:04 But everyone got to see goals. There wasn't too much riding on the match.
03:08 And a nice emotional hug there between Raffale and Mr. Pioli. Don't squeeze too tight.
03:13 But as Adriano said, it was an emotional day. It felt like a party, an end of season celebration.
03:21 Big kiss on the badge from Olivier who was saying au revoir.
03:25 But it was okay. The three goals conceded weren't the best way to end the season.
03:30 But the three goals scored just showed what we've known all season. This team has got goals in them.
03:37 So yeah, it was a nice farewell. The neutrals probably had a great time. Six goals.
03:41 But more positive than negative from this final match. More big hugs there.
03:46 It was an afternoon, an evening of goals and hugs.
03:50 The last Serie A fixture with the new home kit which also marks our 125th anniversary for the season 2024/25.
04:02 It was a very magic night for many reasons. Also because we know very well that it was the last one for three undisputed protagonists.
04:11 So let's start focusing on coach Stefano Pioli who wants to say goodbye to our club and to Rossoneri fans with a very emotional speech. Let's listen.
04:21 You were so many. You encouraged us. You gave us the energy we were looking for.
04:35 We lost. We suffered together. We won.
05:04 We enjoyed together. The emotions we experienced will stay with us.
05:13 You lit the fire in my heart. It will always be lit. I will never forget you. Thank you.
05:26 Stefano! Stefano!
05:35 I will never forget Stefano Pioli. This is the end of a very important journey with him with beautiful memories.
05:44 Amazing scenes. Incredible. I think what Mr. Pioli was able to do, you could see the connection between him and the fans.
05:53 That is something very special. That's what makes this club truly, truly special.
05:59 Yes, one of the biggest clubs in the world but still that local feel, that feeling that everyone is one.
06:06 Mr. Pioli also spoke about the staff here at Casa Milan who have been beautiful to him.
06:10 The fans who, as he said, we've won together, we've lost together, we've celebrated together.
06:15 That's a special individual. When you've heard these plays and you see these plays and the emotion that they have for their manager making way,
06:22 that is a truly special individual who leaves his mark on this club in a very, very big way forever.
06:29 So many congratulations to him for his time. You can see the tattoo on his arm there of the Scudetto.
06:35 He's etched into Milan history forever.
06:38 And five years full also of important successes for Milan history.
06:44 Exactly. It must never be forgotten that he brought the Scudetto back to Milan for the first time since 2011.
06:51 He guided Milan to the semifinals of the Champions League. So he did important things.
06:56 And not only on the pitch in terms of tactics but as a character, as a person.
07:01 He carried himself with dignity. He's not the kind of manager or head coach who complains, who creates problems.
07:10 He was very dignified. He was a leader in every sense, in every way a leader should comport, should behave themselves.
07:17 So he'll be sorely missed. He's left some really good memories. We suffered as he said but there have also been good times.
07:24 Must never forget that. And the speech that he gave at the end was well received by the fans.
07:29 And it was just a fitting tribute. His cycle's ended. It happens in professional sport. The cycle's finished.
07:35 Empires crumble but they're there to be rebuilt. And everyone wishes Mr. Pioli the best in his future.
07:41 A great man, a great leader.
07:43 And on Saturday night it was also time to say goodbye to a true champion.
07:48 After his last 90 minutes played in Rossonero and his last goal scored in Syria with AC Milan club Olivier Giroud.
07:58 Say goodbye to our club, Rossoneri fans and to his teammates. Let's listen.
08:04 We are the champions!
08:24 We lived an incredible first year. In my opinion one of the best emotions of my career.
08:49 This choir will always remain in my heart.
08:54 I'm very grateful and I will never forget these three seasons at AC Milan. Forza AC Milan!
09:15 The love shown by San Siro to Olivier Giroud is something incredible.
09:19 Something incredible. Licia you can confirm there were many tears in San Siro on Saturday evening.
09:27 Look this player has left an undeniable mark on the club.
09:32 He was a champion of world football coming in but he's gone to another level.
09:45 It's been remarkable what this player has been able to do.
09:50 Yes he came in the latter years of his career but you can see again the love between.
09:55 Like Mr. Pioni the love between the player, the fans, the club and everyone involved is truly special.
10:02 I'd be lying if I said that I haven't been watching the Giroud tribute videos on the Milan socials very regularly.
10:11 Because his highlights and his moments and his love for this club is very unique, truly special.
10:18 Despite only a few years at this club he does leave as a champion of this club who will be remembered for a very long time.
10:27 Of course now personally for Giroud he'll play with France at the Euros and that will be his career in Europe done.
10:33 He'll move on to Los Angeles MLS and we wish him the very best of luck.
10:38 But we will remember his time here in Milan, in Serie A with the Rossoneri.
10:43 Forever. It was truly special and as we said last week a big merci to Olivier Giroud.
10:48 It was also the last one for Simon Kier and we'll since he rushed out.
10:55 It's love also for the Danish defender, Sheridan.
10:58 I was saying last week that he's a player that perhaps doesn't spring to mind as one of the superstars of this Milan era.
11:05 But he absolutely has been because he's just been a great player.
11:09 He's brought so much wisdom, so much composure.
11:13 The way he plays, he just always looks in control.
11:16 His hair is always perfect. He knows what he's doing.
11:20 He is the kind of player that is so valuable to a team that wants to achieve success.
11:25 So he'll be sorely missed. There he is coming on hugging Fikayo Tomori.
11:31 He just looks very cool, very calm. Even being a very composed man, I'm sure there were lots of butterflies, lots of emotion.
11:41 There was lots of emotion going through Simon Kier's body as he played his final match.
11:47 But this is classic tackling, classic defending. Clever defending.
11:51 Using a bit of streetwise knowledge to get ahead of his man.
11:54 So he'll be sorely missed and very difficult to replace.
11:57 You don't replace players like Simon Kier very easily.
12:01 After the 90 minutes on the pitch against Salernitana, Simon Kier's pitch.
12:06 Let's relive his last moments in Rosso Nero.
12:25 I want to thank the club, the coach and his staff.
12:31 You fans, you bring me joy that I didn't know was possible in the world of football.
12:48 My feeling for this club is the same as when I was playing for the national team.
12:56 I was there for 15 years. Four years and you become a family.
13:04 This group of people here has made me have fun every day.
13:16 Coming to Milanello has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
13:21 And it's also a pleasure to be here with you. Thank you all.
13:25 Thank you.
13:26 An AC Milan talk episode full of emotions.
13:44 But now let's go on because it's also Rosso Nero Awards time.
13:49 We asked you to choose your three favourite goals for the Man's First team.
13:55 So let's start. Adriano, your choices.
13:58 Lots of pressure. Lots of pressure, Adriano.
14:01 Well, look, Sheridan, I picked goals of matches that I was at.
14:04 I covered a lot of football this season and I saw some wonderful Milan goals.
14:07 And my three there, I like that shot, that image is great.
14:11 Rafael Leal was a wonderful way to start the season.
14:16 Milan started very well to get the campaign underway.
14:19 And a wonderful goal for he against Roma.
14:22 This was the third matchday of the campaign and Sheridan.
14:25 When it comes to quality, it doesn't get much better than that.
14:29 This is a player who is capable of, well, for many, what's not possible.
14:33 And that was a wonderful, wonderful goal.
14:35 I think my favourite goal of the season was my second selection.
14:38 Olivier Giroud against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.
14:42 We remember, of course, it was such a difficult group with Paris Saint-Germain, Dortmund.
14:45 And Newcastle in there.
14:47 And it was that moment against Paris Saint-Germain, the second goal on the night,
14:52 which was the difference.
14:54 And when we talk about classic Giroud goals, that doesn't get any more classic.
14:59 And I was right there behind this goal.
15:01 It was an energetic evening.
15:04 Probably the best atmosphere I've seen at San Siro this season.
15:07 And to cap it off with a Giroud winner against our old friend Donnarumma there was very special.
15:12 That was a fine finish.
15:14 And then lastly, this was the most intense match I watched all season.
15:18 It was Okafor, last minute winner against Lazio at Stadio Olimpico in the capital.
15:24 Lazio had three players sent off.
15:26 This match was exciting for different reasons.
15:29 And Okafor there running to the UA fans.
15:31 And that was an iconic moment, of which there were many this season.
15:36 But for me, they were my top three. I hope you enjoyed them.
15:39 And your top three, Shaidan?
15:41 Yeah, absolutely. I made my choices with slightly different criteria.
15:46 I went for goals that were important, but also spectacular.
15:50 The Raphael goal against Atalanta was just a demonstration of sheer power, basically.
15:59 The way he smashed it into the net was outrageous.
16:02 And it just demonstrated that when he gets moving, he's very hard to stop.
16:08 He's passed two defenders and just into the area.
16:12 And he just crashed it into the far side netting.
16:15 And then the celebration was curious and fun.
16:19 And then the photographers got involved.
16:21 And it was just a demonstration of how hard he is to stop.
16:24 They tried to stop him twice.
16:26 And then you think, he's still got some work to do.
16:28 Then he releases a missile from his magic boot.
16:31 This is Ruben Loftus-Cheek's first goal for Milan.
16:35 I have to admit, I chose it because I'm a bit biased.
16:38 Because Ruben is English and I've met him here at the Casa Milan studios.
16:42 And he's a very nice man. It was a fine finish.
16:45 And this is another really good goal.
16:47 Look at that. You could not stop that with five goalkeepers.
16:50 You've picked a good three there.
16:51 Teo Hernandez, when he gets forward, it's a joy to watch.
16:55 Unless you're the goalkeeper and you've got that ball flying towards your head.
16:59 Get out of the way, son.
17:00 Because it's just a really good goal.
17:02 And Teo is always great fun to watch when he gets forward.
17:06 So those are my three goals.
17:08 And I think they're a nice collection.
17:10 Many fixtures for our scenery in this season among Syria and the European leagues.
17:17 But now, your choices for your best games.
17:20 So Sheridan, let's start with you.
17:22 I've chosen the match away to Newcastle United at the St. James' Park.
17:26 A very difficult stadium to play in.
17:28 At that point, Milan and Newcastle were arguably fighting it out for third place,
17:33 which is not what the objection was or the objective was at the start of the season.
17:36 But it's how it happened.
17:38 But unless I'm mistaken, I think Newcastle went to goal up and Milan had to react.
17:42 And they did.
17:43 They got the equalizer, which was an opportunistic goal.
17:46 They all count.
17:47 And then the doubt from the passionate Newcastle fans.
17:51 Great assist, by the way, from Adriano's friend Giroud.
17:54 Top player.
17:55 And then the doubt, the nerves from the Newcastle fans transmitted, I think, onto the players.
18:02 Milan could smell blood and went for the kill.
18:05 And basically getting a win away to Newcastle was really important.
18:09 And not that easy, because they're a decent team.
18:11 They play quite a physical kind of football.
18:13 This is the winning goal.
18:15 And that's a wonderful team move.
18:17 And the way it was swept into the far corner, it was a glorious goal.
18:22 And it was a really good European away performance.
18:26 And what Milan needed at the time, a wonderful finish.
18:29 You can't argue with that.
18:30 Chukwu Wejze with some magic.
18:32 He's popped up for some really glorious moments, Chukwu.
18:35 And that was no chance for the keeper.
18:37 So it was a big match.
18:38 It was a very big European performance.
18:41 And, Adriano, you chose the winning match against Paris Saint-Germain.
18:45 It was a slightly bigger European performance.
18:47 This one with respect to Newcastle.
18:49 Because this was a match that I think we can take a lot of confidence from going into next season.
18:53 Paris Saint-Germain, eventual semifinalist this season in the Champions League.
18:58 And it was a tough period.
18:59 This was match day four.
19:02 Pitch side of this match, before the match got underway,
19:05 I knew something special was going to happen.
19:07 There was something different.
19:08 Look at those scenes in the stands.
19:09 It was incredible.
19:11 That right up there with the very best atmosphere I've seen on a European night at San Siro.
19:16 And really, it was a must win.
19:18 And it was a match where the players really brought their top game against one of the top squads in world football.
19:26 You could see Kieran Mbappe there on the end.
19:28 And they were made to work hard for it, like at Newcastle.
19:31 But it was the stars that shone.
19:33 And in the end, a 2-1 win.
19:36 A famous, famous performance.
19:38 And this was another acrobatic finish from our good friend, Rafa Leal.
19:43 But we saw some great highlights, some great goals, some great moments in the season.
19:50 And it was these players at the top of their game proving that they can really match up with the very best in world football.
19:56 So this was, I think, the most powerful victory of the campaign against the Paris Saint-Germain team.
20:01 Of course, we were dreaming of going the distance in the Champions League this season.
20:05 So for me, Newcastle was good.
20:08 This one here against Paris Saint-Germain was great.
20:11 That's all for our Rossoneri awards for the men's first team.
20:16 But now we have to highlight that the Serie A campaign for this season has just finished.
20:24 But there is also one new match to officially close this season.
20:30 We are talking about the friendly with Roma in Australia.
20:34 And these are the best pictures from their experience there.
20:39 This is the moment in which they arrived.
20:41 There was also Olivier Giroud, who is living his last moments with his Rossoneri teammates.
20:47 Here we have to highlight that the reason for this friendly with Roma is to remember Agostino Di Bartolome,
20:55 a former player both for AC Milan and Roma.
20:58 Davide Calabria and Bolinera talked in a press conference for AC Milan and Daniele De Rossi and Smalling for Giallorossi.
21:05 Among them, Zlatan Ibrahimovic with some special guests.
21:12 He is enjoying with the Rossoneri also of the pitch the moments in Perth.
21:18 Beautiful animals, guys.
21:20 Wonderful to be in nature.
21:22 Obviously, Adriano knows more about the wonderful wildlife of Australia than both of us,
21:27 because he grew up among the kangaroos.
21:29 Many people often ask me this, including you, Sheridan.
21:32 I think that we have these animals in our gardens and in our houses.
21:36 And there are pets. It's not true.
21:38 I've rarely seen these in the flesh.
21:40 But yes, when you go to Australia, there is a lot of nature, a lot of wildlife.
21:44 You can really enjoy that side.
21:46 And it's great to see Zlatan, the Milan player, enjoying exactly that.
21:49 Oh, lovely. Look at that.
21:51 It's a very special moment and occasion for AC Milan to remember Agostino Di Bartolome,
21:58 but also a very special moment for the Australian Rossoneri,
22:02 who have been waiting for this moment and this appointment for a long time.
22:08 And focusing on them, a message for us with the full charge from the Rossoneri in Perth.
22:15 Ciao. We are Milan Club Adelaide from South Australia.
22:20 We can't wait to see you take on Roma at Opta Stadium.
22:23 We hope you enjoy your stay.
22:25 And we have something very special planned for you in Perth to welcome you down there against Roma.
22:29 The Australian Curva Sud.
22:53 Exactly. That is Marco and the Milan Club from Adelaide, who are making the trip over to Perth.
22:59 So thanks guys for sending that in.
23:01 What is so important to understand is that while it's a post-season friendly match,
23:06 for these fans who haven't seen this club in the flesh,
23:09 this is a once in a lifetime experience potentially.
23:12 And to have them coming to Australia for the first time in a few decades,
23:15 this means the world.
23:17 And you can see the work here that's going into preparing a wonderful experience
23:21 for the Milan players.
23:23 They've sent me these scenes.
23:24 This is going to be a special atmosphere.
23:26 And look, for the Milan players, yes, it's been a long season.
23:29 We know that.
23:30 But they'll take a lot out of playing in front of adoring fans on the other side of the world,
23:35 who, like myself when I was very young growing up,
23:38 have to wake up at 4am to watch their heroes play in Serie A in the Champions League.
23:44 So their dedication being rewarded by this Milan-Roma friendly,
23:48 it's going to be a wonderful spectacle.
23:51 And I'm just so happy for these fans and all the Milan fans in Australia.
23:55 A special and magic atmosphere ahead of the game that kicks off on Friday
24:01 at the Op 2 Stadium in Perth.
24:04 But for this episode, that's all for our Men's First Team Focus.
24:08 And now let's move on with our Women's Team.
24:17 The Serie A League came to an end also for our restaurant, Sheridan.
24:22 But a summary comment from you on this season,
24:26 especially on this quarterfinal run.
24:29 A good finish to a very difficult season.
24:32 We've discussed it, there have been problems, it hasn't been an easy season.
24:36 But things turned around towards the end.
24:38 Milan finished on a high, recording lots of wins, some lovely goals.
24:43 Bringing the smile back, let's say, to the femenile world of Milan.
24:49 It won't be a season that we will remember for a long time,
24:53 for difficult reasons.
24:56 But the team, towards the end, turned it around somewhat.
24:59 And that leaves grounds for optimism for the future for Milan Femenile.
25:04 Who can hopefully return to the top, ti siamo, of Italian women's football.
25:11 Do you agree with that?
25:13 I agree, of course.
25:15 It wasn't the season that we had hoped for.
25:18 But given that stretch in the last eight fixtures,
25:21 there was a lot of momentum built.
25:24 Now the plan is to build on that momentum going into the new campaign.
25:28 Obviously there will be some changes in terms of personnel.
25:31 Bring these players in, have a strong pre-season,
25:33 and continue that confidence from those last fixtures we saw.
25:36 I think we'll see a much improved Milan in the 2024/25 season.
25:41 So I'm excited for what's to come.
25:43 But again, this club has big ambitions.
25:45 I think the ambition here will be to return to the top half of Serie A,
25:50 and then hopefully push for Champions League places as well.
25:52 And the Rostoneri awards for this season on the pitch, your choice, Adriano?
25:57 We're starting with the goal?
25:59 The goal.
26:00 Let's start with the goal.
26:01 I think my favourite goal of the season,
26:04 well you can see now, it's no surprise,
26:06 was against Napoli.
26:08 This was a match early on in the campaign.
26:11 It was matchday two, first win of the season, away from home.
26:15 A tough trip to Naples.
26:17 It was a match we were in control, but the goal came very late.
26:21 It was a fine finish, it was the 96th minute there.
26:24 New player, first goal for the club, lots of experience he's played.
26:28 But to come in and make a mark like that, a fine finish.
26:31 Very quick, sorry to interrupt, but very quick feet,
26:34 and the shot was unforgiving.
26:36 I'm really sorry to interrupt, your expert analysis, always appreciated.
26:39 It was a great finish and a great way to get the first win on the board
26:44 in the season underway.
26:46 And Sheridan, you chose Vigilucci against Como.
26:49 Absolutely, it was a different kind of goal.
26:51 It was a goal that was opportunistic.
26:53 Vigilucci spotted a chance, she spotted a little angle of the corner of the goal,
26:59 because it was a bad clearance.
27:01 She went for the half volley, and she went for it, she brought a ticket,
27:05 and she won the lottery.
27:07 As they say, I believe in Australia, if you don't risk it, you won't get the biscuit.
27:11 Exactly what they say.
27:12 And it was a really good finish.
27:14 And look at it, let's look at it again, she just went for it.
27:17 Not many people would have gone for that, but Vigilucci did, and she was rewarded.
27:22 Really, really fabulous drive into the bottom corner, spectacular.
27:26 And for your favourite game of this Rossoneri season,
27:31 I know that the both of you chose the Derby della Madonnina,
27:34 the last one of the season, against Inter.
27:36 We did.
27:37 Yeah, great lines, things alike, or forms seldom differ.
27:42 But it was good, it's always good to beat Inter, we know that,
27:45 whether it's youth team, first team, or women's team.
27:48 Wearing the cool and moody black fourth kit as well.
27:52 And like I say, that was a tough time, this was just coming out of a tough time
27:57 for the Rossoneri, but still managed to get a victory against the neighbours,
28:02 which is always delightful.
28:04 It was a really important win because it was coming to that midway point of the season
28:07 where the standings were splitting, and there was still hope of that top-half finish.
28:12 So the timing of this win, as well as it being against Inter,
28:16 is what made it for me the match of the season.
28:18 Sasskova there, getting the goal, 2-0, Inter did pull one back.
28:22 But look, in the end, as Sheridan said, it's always a good feeling to defeat Inter,
28:28 no matter what the stakes are, because it's always important.
28:31 The stakes are always high.
28:32 So this was a great win, and again, hopeful for these girls now going into next season,
28:37 that that end of season finish, including that Derby win, which was in mid-February,
28:41 will give them a lot of confidence now as we resume the new campaign.
28:45 And our Rosso Neri will be in Mexico from 9 to 16 June for the Heron Nations Tour,
28:52 but we'll still have much to say about our youngest talent,
28:57 so let's move on with our Under-19s.
28:59 A draw that wasn't enough against Lazio, so the Under-19s season ended last weekend.
29:15 That's right. We know football can be cruel.
29:17 The team gave everything against Lazio, had to win.
29:20 Lazio only needed two results, or rather could benefit from two results, a victory or a draw.
29:26 They played professionally, Lazio, they played intelligently.
29:29 Milan didn't get the victory.
29:31 Painful, difficult, but you have to say it's still been a monumental season for the young Rosso Neri.
29:39 There's the first goal of the game, which made it look as if things might be going Milan's way.
29:46 Davide Bartesaghi with a really good, solid header there, hugging Mr. Abate.
29:51 And at that point it looked like maybe the dream was edging closer.
29:55 Really nice goal. A centre-forwards goal, by the way, from Bartesaghi, who was a central defender,
29:59 or sent a full-back.
30:01 But at this point it looked like things were going in Milan's way.
30:05 However, Lazio equalised, and look at that camera angle.
30:08 Lazio equalised, and from then they could sort of lock the door, as Adriano would say.
30:14 And it wasn't to be. The season ended here in Tuscany.
30:19 And still plenty of positive things to take from the season.
30:24 And there's the goal that effectively ended the dream,
30:27 but it didn't end the fact that it was been a fine season for the young Rosso Neri.
30:32 And the season ends here, when also ends the adventure led by Ignacio Abate with his Rosso Neri left.
30:41 Well, of course, I don't know if Sheridan can speak on this one,
30:44 because he's been very emotional about this exit.
30:47 Because Mr. Abate, what he's been able to do in his time in this position has been remarkable.
30:53 Obviously, we saw the scenes there. It is disappointing that the season ends like that,
30:57 because they did prove they were more than capable of matching a Lazio team.
31:00 But it has been two very long but successful campaigns.
31:05 Those runs in the Youth League, of course, will be remembered forever.
31:08 That is remarkable. They became the first Italian club into the UEFA Youth League final this season.
31:13 And obviously, their performances domestically have been very strong and consistently as well.
31:18 So he leaves a lifetime of memories here, and he has confirmed that he now personally wants to move into the senior levels.
31:26 But I'll let you take it, because it was a remarkable time. I know you covered him in some serious depth.
31:30 No, no. Everything you said is correct, is perfect.
31:32 But I think Milan fans of the youth team should thank Mr. Abate,
31:37 because he came in at a difficult time for the youth team, and he got them playing fantastic attacking football.
31:43 Milan is built on attacking football. It's in the DNA to play front-forward, aggressive football to try and score goals.
31:49 Ignacio Abate's team did that. They did it in Europe as well, two seasons in a row.
31:54 And now it's normal that Ignacio wants to perhaps coach a professional team, a men's first team.
31:59 Someone's going to be very lucky to get him as a manager, but he'll always be remembered for what he did here.
32:06 And his career as a manager is going to be very interesting to watch.
32:11 So I think everyone, from all of us, would say "Buona fortuna, mister", because it's been a really wonderful two seasons.
32:17 And Mr. Abate has been fabulous. Watch this space. Keep an eye on Ignacio.
32:22 Good luck to Mr. Abate for his new adventure, for his future.
32:29 But now, Rossoneri awards, also for AC Milan Primavera. Share with us your favourite goal of the season.
32:35 My favourite goal was scored by Diego Sier, who has been fabulous this season.
32:41 And he scored it against Real Madrid. It doesn't get much better than this.
32:44 Watch this, guys. Clever skill through the defence. Finish was delicious through the keeper's legs.
32:50 Scored at the top level as well. Like I say, he wasn't scoring against an average team.
32:54 He was scoring against royalty of world football. But you can see better here.
32:59 One, two, three. And will he finish? Yes, he will.
33:03 And it was just a really fabulous goal. And all of the squad have played fantastically well.
33:08 I was spoiled for choice for exciting goals, but I went for that one because it was against Real Madrid.
33:13 It wasn't any old goal. So great work from Diego Sier.
33:17 And Adriano Camarda against Juventus.
33:20 Yes, when we talk about delicious finishes, Sheridan.
33:24 Tasty, tasty finishes. Tasty finishes. I don't even need to...
33:28 Look, Camarda's season has been remarkable. We know that he's still very, very, very young.
33:38 But it's been a case of... This has been a player who is definitely a star to watch for the future.
33:45 And he has developed and will continue to develop and hopefully become a first team player very soon.
33:53 Because this is a player who I think has strong belief can have a very strong future.
33:57 So it's been exciting keeping tabs on him. Let's see what next season holds.
34:01 An incredible growth and journey. The one experienced by our Rosso Neri in the Youth League.
34:07 From which I know that both of you chose your favourite match.
34:11 Yes. Again, that has to be for me with respect to the domestic competition.
34:16 The season that was is I think defined by what took place here.
34:20 Now I picked the Porto match purely because that was the semi-final that saw history made.
34:24 And Milan go through to the final. But there was the victory against Real Madrid.
34:28 There was the Dortmund win. It was incredible. The run that they were able to take on here.
34:33 And look, in front of a very strong crowd, it was tough.
34:36 Porto are one of the best teams in Europe at this level. We know that.
34:40 And this Milan team do what they always do and that's fight to the very end.
34:45 And they came out on top on penalties in the end.
34:48 But again, the lessons learned from experiences like this and against again.
34:53 The Portuguese League are known for producing some of the world's best young talent.
34:56 So this is a very, very tough result to come through and go through to a final.
35:01 I think for me just edges the other fixtures out for the highlight of the season.
35:06 And Sheridan, what about your favourite match?
35:09 I chose the match against Borussia Dortmund because the young Rossoneri blew the Germans away.
35:14 It was in the group stage, so it was still a case of working out the best 11.
35:18 Getting back into the groove of European football.
35:21 But they did fantastically well and Dortmund just couldn't live with Milan.
35:26 All the way back in autumn at the Puma House of Football.
35:29 And it was a sign for me that something special was occurring again for the youth team in Europe.
35:36 Because that day Dortmund did not know what hit them.
35:39 Well guys, we come to the end of this episode of this AC Milan Talk edition.
35:47 It's time to say goodbye also for us.
35:50 Let me say that it was a pleasure to share this journey with you.
35:54 So thanks to Adriano Del Monte and thanks to Sheridan Bird.
35:58 It's always a pleasure, Licia. Thank you, Sheridan. And thank you to the fans.
36:02 Yes, thank you very much, Adriano. Thank you very much, Licia.
36:05 Everyone who watched at home and supported us. Thank you very much.
36:09 It's been an eventful season, but an exciting season.
36:12 And I've really enjoyed my time in these studios with you guys.
36:15 And dear Rossoneri, thank you so much for this incredible adventure.
36:20 Thanks for following us. And as we used to say in Italy, Forza Milan sempre! Ciao!
