Take a tour of this off-grid farm in Sapang Dalaga, Misamis Occidental that might offer 'farm to table' dining experience in the future.

Welcome to Rad Farmstead. Previously, Red and Darleth showed us around their beautiful Bahay Kubo with enchanting outdoor space. This time, how about we take a look around the farm where everything basks in nature's calming presence.

As the couple develops the farm, they hope their sustainable living may turn into a successful business venture by opening to the public in the future despite its unconventional location. Particularly, by opening a cafe for food enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals gracing them with 'farm to table' dining experience. They're crossing their fingers on the goal because they surely wanna retire early.

The farm currently is a haven of healthy animals, fruits, and vegetables. So far, everything looks promising.

00:08 We started the construction in May 2019
00:11 and our main obstacle is that this area is not accessible by four-wheel vehicles.
00:19 So, it's hard to transport materials from the highway to here.
00:25 So, we actually need to hire professionals to make the road so that it can pass by four-wheels.
00:32 And then, this area also has no source of water and electricity.
00:39 So, since it's a farmland, it really needs a source of water.
00:44 So, we made a deep well that is automatic so that we have a source of water.
00:50 And then, our electricity is also expensive because the highway is far, but we need it.

01:00 Maybe the first thing to consider is that you should know that this is what you want.
01:06 The very first thing because it's not easy.
01:09 If you just see the peg online that it's a nice farmhouse, but you don't know.
01:14 Once you live here, like what we experienced, the room is filled with grass or grass or grass.
01:22 So, it's like we anticipate that it might happen.
01:26 So, it's not an everyday thing that's Instagrammable or IG-worthy.
01:30 Since this is a farm setting, the scenes like that are possible to happen.
01:37 And then, if it's raining heavily, it will get foggy.
01:41 But if this is what you really want, you don't see those issues as too much of a problem.
01:47 Instead, you will focus on the solutions that you should do for that because you want to live here.
01:53 [Music]
01:58 We also have livestock, poultry, and then we also have a goat house.
02:04 For the poultry, we have around 50 hens for now.
02:08 So, we also have products like eggs and then dressed chicken.
02:12 And then for the goats, so far we have seven goats.
02:17 We also have cows.
02:19 We have two cows for now.
02:21 [Music]
02:27 This is our house.
02:29 Let's go to the chicken coop and goat house.
02:33 [Music]
02:37 So, this is our chicken coop and the goat house is over there.
02:42 The chicken coop was built in 2019, the same date as the construction of the house.
02:51 So, it's a bit old.
02:53 But these are our chickens.
02:57 We call them French chickens.
03:00 So, they have brown eggs.
03:02 They produce brown eggs.
03:04 And here, this is our incubator.
03:09 This is our harvest today.
03:13 Brown eggs.
03:17 So, here we have four rooms for breeding.
03:22 These are our breeders.
03:24 [Music]
03:27 Since Red and I would like to practice sustainable living, we have a small garden.
03:33 It's food consumption only.
03:35 Vegetables like tomatoes, petchay.
03:38 From time to time, we just change what we plant in the garden.
03:43 For right now, we are more focused on planting fruit trees like lonzones, rambutan, calamansi, bananas.
03:54 Because we are aiming that in a few years, maybe five to ten years, it will bear fruit.
04:00 Hopefully. And we're aiming because as much as possible, we can retire early.
04:05 So, that's our mindset.
04:07 We don't want to work until it's super old.
04:11 So, right now, we're planting for long-term investment.
04:15 That's why we opted for fruit trees for now.
04:19 [Music]
04:24 So far, we can sell the eggs.
04:27 We advertise it as free-range farm eggs.
04:30 For now, our focus is on fruit trees.
04:33 So, our produce is eggs and chicken.
04:37 We are planning to have a small cafe here.
04:41 And also, maybe do a farm-to-table experience for people.
04:47 And maybe we can officially open this area to the public.
