00:00Luckily, I've prepared for such an event.
00:06The lightning round!
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks
00:10for friends' jokes that still have us LOLing all these many years later.
00:14Look at me!
00:15I'm Chandler!
00:16Could I be wearing any more clothes?
00:20Number 30.
00:21The electric drill incident.
00:23In Season 3, Joey decides to build a mail cubby for the apartment.
00:27Assuming Joey, that probably would've been an adventure all its own.
00:31But as he explains to Chandler, what began as a mail cubby turned into a full-on entertainment
00:36unit project.
00:37An entertainment unit with a mail cubby built right in.
00:39It's a one-day job, max.
00:42Chandler is on board at first, but his patience wears thin as the construction drags on, especially
00:47when an electric drill bit comes through the wall just inches from his head.
00:51It's a scary moment for him, but leads to one of his many great lines.
00:55In a concern, Joey asks if he got him with the drill.
00:59Oh, sorry, did I get you?
01:02A question that really needn't be asked, given that Chandler is alive to answer it.
01:07No, you didn't get me!
01:08It's an electric drill!
01:10You get me, you kill me!
01:12Number 29.
01:13Rachel's long letter.
01:15As Season 4 began, it looked like Ross and Rachel were going to get back together
01:18after working through the issues regarding Ross' infidelity.
01:22Or not, depending on what side of the they-were-on-a-break you fall on.
01:26It so does not!
01:28However, when Rachel finds out that Ross agreed to the things stipulated in the letter she
01:33wrote him without having actually read the whole letter, the breakup is back on the table.
01:37While we might not approve of Ross lying about having read the letter in the first place,
01:42we do understand his point about how ridiculously long it was.
01:45The one-liners really just keep going in this scene, but the funniest might be Ross' delivery
01:50about the letter being a pretty good sleep aid.
01:52I just feel bad about all that sleep you're gonna miss wishing you were with me!
01:56Oh no, no, don't you worry about me falling asleep.
01:59I still have your letter!
02:03Number 28.
02:04Homo Erectus.
02:05Can you talk about human evolution without snickering when someone says the Latin term
02:09for an extinct species?
02:11In much the same way that Homo Ergaster is now thought to be a separate species from
02:15Homo Erectus.
02:16What?
02:17He said Erectus.
02:18Well, we know Joey and Rachel can't.
02:25We also know that even just saying the word erect around Chandler is setting him up for
02:30a joke.
02:31The latter did not disappoint in Season 2, when Ross took a work call in front of him
02:35and exclaimed what is a valid claim to those in the field, but what sounds pretty suspicious
02:40to the rest of us.
02:41Without missing a beat and in between bites of Chinese takeout, Chandler commiserates
02:45with the poor guy.
02:46No, no, no, no, Homo Habilis was erect, Australopithecus was never fully erect.
02:54Maybe he was nervous.
02:55Number 27.
02:56Why is your family Ross?
02:58What is that?
03:01I think it's the dying cat parade.
03:06Everything about Ross and the bagpipes is funny.
03:08While we all remember the final scene of that episode with Phoebe singing along to Ross's
03:13We also can't forget a laugh out loud moment from earlier in the episode.
03:17The bagpipes come onto the scene when Ross tells Chandler and Monica that he has a surprise
03:21for their wedding.
03:22Well, during dinner one night, Monica and Chandler discover, to their horror, what that
03:27surprise is, which leads Monica to reprimand Chandler for his family heritage.
03:31Chandler, in turn, has some opinions of his own about Monica's family.
03:35Why is your family Scottish?
03:38Why is your family Ross?
03:42Number 26.
03:43Q-tip.
03:44Apparently, Joey only gets two strikes with oafish comments before Chandler lets him have
03:48it.
03:49The first comes when Joey asks a question that has a very obvious answer.
03:52Anybody know a good tailor?
03:54You need some clothes altered?
03:55No, no, I'm just looking for a man to draw on me with chalk.
03:58The second is some slow mental calculation that eats up more time than anything.
04:02This is Chandler's breaking point, and he delivers what has to be one of his most brutal
04:07quips.
04:08It's a classic.
04:09Joey Perry miming the removal of the Q-tip from his ear and into his pocket is just the
04:13cherry on top.
04:14You have to stop the Q-tip when there's resistance.
04:18Plus, it doubles as a hilarious PSA.
04:22Number 25.
04:23The left phalange.
04:24One of Phoebe's favorite made-up words is phalange, and she uses it on multiple occasions
04:29over the course of the series.
04:30Maybe people give out fake numbers, but they don't give out fake names.
04:35Oh, yeah?
04:36Hi, Ken Adams.
04:38Pleased to meet you.
04:41Regina Phalange.
04:44Most of the time, it's part of her go-to fake name, Regina Phalange.
04:48But in the series finale, she breaks it out as a way to try and get Rachel off a plane
04:52sitting on the tarmac, so that Ross can confess his feelings before it's too late.
04:56No, you have to get off the plane.
04:59What?
05:00Why?
05:01I have this feeling that something's wrong with it.
05:03Something is wrong with the left phalange.
05:08Unfortunately, the nervous passenger sitting next to Rachel overhears this conversation
05:13and takes Phoebe's intuition to heart.
05:15Where are you going?
05:16I have to get off this plane, okay?
05:18Her friend has a feeling something's wrong with the left phalange.
05:24This might just be the best bit from an extra on the show, and it still has us laughing.
05:30Number 24.
05:31We were on a break.
05:33There wasn't much funny about the Ross and Rachel break-up in season three, although
05:37there were some good laughs to be had via the rest of the gang hiding in the bedroom.
05:41The one great thing to come of it, though, has to be the now iconic argument,
05:45we were on a break.
05:46We were on a break!
05:47Oh my God, if you say that one more time, I'm going to break up with you.
05:53While we reference it often in our own lives, the show itself actually calls back to it
05:57pretty frequently, too.
05:59What?
06:00You slept with someone else?
06:03We were on a break, okay?
06:06Whether it's Ross repeatedly defending his point or Rachel getting his son Ben on her
06:10side of the disagreement, the mention of the break gets a solid laugh each and every time.
06:15So now what have we agreed?
06:17No more pranks.
06:18And what else?
06:19That you and Daddy were not on a break.
06:22Very good.
06:23Number 23.
06:24The Holiday Armadillo.
06:26Where do we even begin with this one?
06:29Trying to pass down holiday traditions to your kids is not asking too much.
06:33With Ross' luck, though, we're not surprised it panned out this way.
06:37When Ross decides teaching Ben about Hanukkah doesn't need to mean taking away Santa Claus,
06:41he sets out in search of a big red suit and white beard.
06:44Unfortunately, the only costume left at the store was that of an armadillo.
06:48What happened to Santa, Holiday Armadillo?
06:53Santa was unavailable so close to Christmas.
06:59And like, it's pretty impressive, right?
07:01The short arms, the massive shell, the tail that swings when he trots along.
07:05The only thing that makes it even better is when Santa Chandler shows up.
07:09Oh, Merry Christmas!
07:12Santa!
07:13Hey!
07:14Well, here's to new holiday traditions, we guess.
07:20Number 22.
07:21The Erogenous Zones.
07:23When Chandler starts dating Kathy, he's disappointed when they get intimate and she doesn't seem
07:27to enjoy it as much as she did with her previous boyfriend, Joey.
07:31It was fine, you know, but she didn't agree with me as strongly as she agreed with Joey.
07:36She was more like, uh, I see your point, I'm alright with it.
07:41Chandler is intimidated by Joey's supposed sexual prowess and goes to Monica and Rachel
07:45for advice.
07:46The girls provide him with a list of all seven female erogenous zones, and even a suggestion
07:51for the order in which he might stimulate them.
07:54That's one.
07:56Kind of an important one.
07:58Oh, you know, you know what, I was looking at it upside down.
08:02Ha!
08:03Well, you know, sometimes that helps.
08:08Apparently this is Monica's preferred order because she gets completely caught up in it.
08:12The scene is so perfectly executed by Courtney Cox, and we have to commend her for really
08:16committing to the bit.
08:18Number 21.
08:19Gum is Perfection.
08:21What would you say if you were stuck in an ATM vestibule with Victoria's Secret model
08:24Jill Goodacre and she offered you a piece of gum?
08:27Maybe you'd say, yes please, thank you, or sure, I'd love one.
08:31Unfortunately for a flustered Chandler, he makes a different choice.
08:35First, he asks if it's sugarless and then refuses the offering.
08:38Would you like some gum?
08:39Oh, is it sugarless?
08:40Sorry, it's not.
08:41Oh, then no thanks.
08:42Wait, it gets worse.
08:47After admonishing himself for not taking the gum, he tries to make up for it by asking
08:51her for a piece.
08:52Instead of just asking like a normal person, though, he awkwardly informs her that a piece
08:56of gum would be perfection.
08:58You know, on second thought, gum would be perfection.
09:01Perry's hysterical voiceover never fails to get us giggling up a storm.
09:05I loathe myself.
09:09Number 20.
09:10Chandler's Advice.
09:11We may have to repopulate the earth.
09:17And condoms are the way to do that.
09:21Chandler's sarcasm is one of the most consistent features of the show.
09:25And I just want a million dollars.
09:28Whether he's reminding Joey of how babies are made or wishing for a million dollars
09:32after Rachel first comes into central perk in the pilot, his characterization remains
09:37reliable in all ten seasons.
09:39I thought Joey and I would be okay once we hung out, but it's like we don't even know
09:43how to be with each other anymore.
09:44I know it's tough now, but things will get better.
09:47He's very aware of how prominent this personality trait is, and references it himself later
09:52in the show when Rachel comes to him looking for advice, and he delivers this iconic line.
09:58I'm not great at the advice.
10:00Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
10:04At least he's self-aware.
10:05Maybe she should try Ross or Monica next time.
10:08Number 19.
10:10Rachel Revealing Ross' Secret.
10:12One of the show's most iconic episodes is the season four premiere, when Ross and Rachel
10:16reconcile after he fails to read her letter, and inadvertently admits fault in their breakup.
10:22I just wish we hadn't lost those four months, but if time was what you needed just to gain
10:28a little perspective.
10:32We were on a break!
10:35Their reunion is short-lived, however, because as soon as Rachel realizes what has happened,
10:40she loses it.
10:42So does Ross, though.
10:43Ross and Rachel's fights are always epic, and this is truly one for the books.
10:47Oh, oh, oh, and by the way, Y-O-U-apostrophe-R-E means you are.
10:54Y-O-U-R means you're.
10:56As they hurl insults at each other, their jabs get nastier and nastier.
11:01Rachel tries to get the last word in with this reveal.
11:04And wait!
11:05Just so you know, it's not that common, it doesn't happen to every guy, and it is a big deal!
11:13I knew it!
11:15It inevitably left many fans speculating about what exactly she's talking about.
11:21Number 18, Chandler's ad ideas.
11:24Chandler's job is a near constant joke throughout the series, and the more we learn about it,
11:28the more depressing it seems.
11:30No, I mean, what am I supposed to do with myself?
11:33You're supposed to find your passion in life.
11:35You can be whatever you want to be now.
11:37He clearly does not have a passion for the industry he's in, so in season nine, he decides
11:42to embark on a new career in advertising.
11:45Cheese.
11:46It's milk that you chew.
11:51When he tries out his chops coming up with promotional slogans for inanimate objects
11:55around the apartment, Monica's understandably skeptical, but manages to hook him up with
12:00an internship anyway.
12:01A grape, because who can get a watermelon in your mouth?
12:06We're not sure anyone would hire him based on concepts like cheese, it's milk that you
12:10chew, but he gets an A for effort.
12:13Number 17, the juice box.
12:16There are plenty of friends jokes that we didn't understand when the show initially
12:20aired that have a whole new meaning now that we're all grown up.
12:33In this episode, Ross and Rachel encounter obstacles when they're trying to plan their
12:37date and eventually end up cozied up in the planetarium at Ross' museum.
12:41As they make out while lying on a blanket together, something happens that makes Rachel
12:46reassure Ross that it's okay.
13:01He replies that they actually just rolled over a juice box, and the result is one of
13:05the most adult jokes to ever occur on the show.
13:16Number 16, Unagi.
13:24When Rachel and Phoebe enroll in a self-defense class, Ross tries to undermine their newfound
13:29confidence in their own safety by telling them that they'll never be truly safe without
13:32practicing Unagi.
13:40They of course make fun of him, asking if he's talking about a kind of sushi, and he
13:44subsequently spends the episode trying to scare them.
14:00The girls end up winning this battle, however, with Ross eventually going to see their self-defense
14:05teacher and coming off like a total weirdo who's trying to learn how to attack women.
14:17Number 15, Ross' sandwich.
14:25In season 5, Ross is dealing with some rage issues due to his divorce and eviction.
14:31It all comes to a head when one of his co-workers steals his sandwich.
14:42And it's not just any sandwich.
14:44It's the special Thanksgiving leftover sandwich featuring the moist maker.
14:55Clearly his anger over the sandwich is representative over the frustration he's feeling about his
14:59entire life, but it's still hilarious when he realizes that his boss was the one who
15:03took it, and had the gall to throw part of it away, causing Ross to scream so loud that
15:09the pigeons outside hear it.
15:26Number 14, Joey doesn't share food.
15:30For many of us, Joey is the most relatable of the Friends gang, and one of his qualities
15:34that makes us identify with him most is his love of food.
15:46In the show's final season, he's dating Phoebe's friend Sarah, but their dinner out takes a
15:51negative turn when she tries to eat some of his fries.
15:54Describing the date to Phoebe, he yells this now iconic line.
16:02When he agrees to another date, he ends up having to explain to Sarah as well that he
16:06does not share food when, despite his best efforts, she always wants to eat from his
16:11plate.
16:21He does, however, get a taste of his own medicine when she opts not to share her dessert
16:25with him.
16:29Number 13, Ross's trip to the sun.
16:33When Monica gets a spray tan, Ross becomes jealous of her newly bronzed skin and decides
16:38to try it himself.
16:42Unfortunately, however, the tanning process is a little bit too complicated for him.
16:57Because he counts Mississippi, he ends up being sprayed multiple times on his front
17:01rather than on his back too.
17:04When he goes back to try to rectify the situation, he only manages to make it worse.
17:18Though the entire storyline is hilarious, Chandler gets in the best joke of the episode
17:22with this quip.
17:32Number 12, where should we get coffee?
17:42Of course, Friends had to end with one final joke.
17:45In the series finale, we see the group of besties leaving the apartment for the last
17:50time.
17:55It's a tear-filled scene for both the characters and the audience, but Chandler cuts the tension
18:00in just the way fans would expect.
18:03When Rachel asks if Monica and Chandler have time to go for a coffee before they head to
18:07their new house, Chandler quippily responds.
18:17Any true fan knows that there's only one possible option for a cafe nearby, which is why this
18:22line always makes us chuckle even through our sobs.
18:26Number 11, Moo Point
18:35Joey shows on a few occasions that he doesn't have a great grasp of the English language,
18:40including when he uses a thesaurus on every word of a letter, including his signature.
18:45And sometimes his misunderstandings actually cause us to question whether what we thought
18:50we knew made sense to begin with.
18:52When he tries to educate Rachel on what a moo point is, explaining that it's like a
18:57cow's opinion in that it doesn't matter, we can't help but feel like it actually adds
19:01up.
19:05In a slightly less understandable example, he somehow never learned that an Adam's apple
19:10isn't named after every individual man.
19:26Number 10, Inside Out Cat
19:28Rachel does some pretty impulsive things throughout the series, but one of the most notable is
19:33when she buys a pricey hairless cat that her friends aren't exactly fond of.
19:47Everyone has something to say about her new feline friend, whether it's claiming it looks
19:51like a hand or asking why it's inside out.
20:01The real kicker, of course, is when she finally finds someone to take it off her hands, Gunther.
20:07Even he doesn't quite understand what he's gotten himself into, because he thought it
20:10was some kind of snake.
20:15Oops.
20:16Number 9, Headless Clowns
20:19We probably could have told you that letting Joey and Chandler look after baby Ben was
20:23not gonna go well.
20:32They get distracted when talking to some cute girls and end up inadvertently leaving Ben
20:36on a city bus.
20:40It turns out they weren't the only ones to lose a baby that day, and they have to pick
20:44between two infants, one of whom is wearing an outfit covered in clowns, while the other
20:48is sporting ducks.
20:56They decide to flip a coin to decide, and Joey says the ducks should be heads, because
21:01ducks have heads.
21:02Chandler's response to this logic is one for the books.
21:11Number 8, They Don't Know
21:13Monica and Chandler's secret relationship is a plot point for much of the show's fifth
21:17season, and it all comes to a head in this episode where everyone gradually finds out
21:22what's been going on between them.
21:34The other friends are let in on the secret one by one, and eventually they're just hiding
21:38it from Ross.
21:49But the lengths at which they go to mess with one another in an attempt to hold onto the
21:53secret a little longer is hilarious, especially when Phoebe uses this flawless logic that
21:58is super easy to understand.
22:12Number 7, Ross's Leather Pants
22:27Poor Ross always seems to have something bad happen to him.
22:30For New Year's, Ross makes a resolution to do one new thing every day.
22:35One of those things ends up being wearing leather pants, which turns into an abject
22:39calamity.
22:45He wears them on a date, but when he goes to the bathroom, he can't get them back up
22:49again.
22:50Things keep getting worse and worse as he tries different tactics to eliminate the moisture
22:54from his legs.
23:02While Joey tries to offer him advice, it doesn't make things any better.
23:13Number 6, Phoebe's Plea
23:26In season one, Rachel gets depressed about her financial situation after she receives
23:31her first paycheck and realizes how much she loses to taxes.
23:35While Phoebe and Monica try to cheer her up, they instead end up catching some of her despair.
23:43Monica worries that she doesn't have a life plan, and when she asks Phoebe if she
23:53has one, she has the perfect response.
24:02We can definitely all relate to the idea of not knowing what we're doing with our lives,
24:06and Phoebe is all of us in this scene.
24:10Number 5, Joey wearing all Chandler's clothes
24:13No one was ready for this joke.
24:16Here we find Ross trying to get everyone out of the apartment on time to attend his event,
24:20but all his buddies are slowing him down in their own way.
24:32Joey and Chandler end up in a feud over who lays claim over the best spot in the living
24:36room and it escalates quickly.
24:59The highlight is when Joey decides to put on all of Chandler's clothes and impersonates
25:04all while doing lunges.
25:15Number 4, Rachel's trifle
25:21Rachel isn't exactly a master chef, and this is shown on several occasions throughout the
25:26series.
25:27No moment is more memorable, however, than when she attempts to make a traditional English
25:32trifle for Thanksgiving.
25:33Unfortunately, or fortunately if you're Joey, the pages of her cookbook get stuck together
25:39and she ends up making a meal that's part trifle and part shepherd's pie.
25:48The result is an absolute disaster, and her friends all come up with creative ways to
25:53dispose of their portions to avoid hurting her feelings.
26:09Except Joey of course, who is a big fan and eats the entire thing.
26:22Number 3, Joey on Pyramid
26:25Joey Tribbiani appearing on a televised game show.
26:28Oh boy, what could go wrong?
26:38When Monica announces that he'll be going on Pyramid, we all had a feeling how it would
26:42go, but no one would have expected how hilarious he would be.
26:58His appearance as the celebrity guest on this game show is absolutely priceless, mostly
27:04because he's so utterly bad at the game, and his partner gets increasingly frustrated
27:09with him.
27:17Whether he's unintentionally giving away the answers, or trying to get them right, we still
27:22find ourselves yelling, paper, snow, a ghost, whenever the mood strikes us.
27:28Monica and Ross' storyline in the same episode is just as hilarious, as they find out that
27:33they inadvertently kissed when they were younger.
27:43Number 2, The Game
27:45Many consider this episode to be the absolute pinnacle of Friends, because it encompasses
27:50so many elements of what makes the show great.
27:53While it consists mostly of the gang, minus Phoebe, hanging out at the apartment together,
27:58it also includes an unforgettable competition between the guys and the girls.
28:09Even while they're playing, we learn some hilarious facts about each of them.
28:28As viewers, we didn't think there was any way the girls would actually lose their apartment,
28:33so it's all the more shocking and funny when they do, especially during the game's final
28:38moments when Rachel doesn't actually know what Chandler does for a living.
29:03Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified
29:07about our latest videos.
29:09You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
29:13If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
29:19Number 1, Pivot
29:21Returning to the theme of everything bad happening to Ross, when he decides to buy a new couch,
29:26he refuses to pay for delivery, assuring everyone that he can handle moving it himself, with
29:31a little help from his friends of course.
29:43When he and Rachel aren't able to get the couch through the building staircase, they
29:47bring in Chandler for extra support.
29:53Ross screams at them to pivot over and over again, even though it's clearly not helping.
29:59Eventually, Chandler loses his cool with this frustrated response.
30:03Pivot!
30:04Shut up!
