Taiwan welcomes U.S. Congressional delegation amid China’s show of intimidation

00:22 in and over the Taiwan Strait as a show of punishment to Taiwan for unilaterally declaring

00:29 Today Taiwan added more insult to injury by receiving a U.S. congressional delegation

00:34 headed by Texas Representative Michael McCaul, chair of U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee,

00:39 who struck a defiant note and vowed to keep and sustain American support through military

00:44 assistance despite threats and bullying tactics by Beijing.

00:48 Beijing sanctioned McCaul April last year when the Texas Republican paid a visit to

00:52 Taiwan and gave full support for its government.

00:56 In addition, McCaul cited the bipartisan bill the U.S. Congress approved last month of a

01:01 $95 billion military aid for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, which China bitterly opposes.
