00:09 for the Filipino Housing or 4PH Program of the Marcos Administration.
00:13 What pushed an infrastructure investment company from the United Kingdom to be the pioneer of the flagship program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.?
00:23 Let's find out in this episode.
00:25 Exclusive to my guest, Davison Simango, CEO and co-founder of Zotus Groom, an infrastructure investment company based in the United Kingdom.
00:38 Pabahay in Balete, Batangas is their first social housing venture in Asia.
00:44 How huge is this investment?
00:46 It's quite huge and the total cost of this project is around 100 million US dollars.
00:52 Two years into the project, we will acquire more land and just grow.
00:58 Our target is 1 billion US dollars.
01:00 Really?
01:01 Yeah, towards the housing project.
01:03 Why of all the countries in Southeast Asia, why did you choose the Philippines to invest in this social housing project of the Marcos Administration?
01:14 I think it's a great honor to be able to partner with His Excellency President Bongbong Marcos.
01:20 He's a great visionary and to be able to be part of that vision is a great honor.
01:25 The Philippines itself, when you look at it from an investor's point of view, its strategic location is very attractive.
01:32 When you think about Asia, it's within reach.
01:36 You've got China and you've got all the Asian countries surrounding the Philippines.
01:41 You're looking at the policies of the government that accommodate, that promote for investors.
01:46 And you look at the workforce, the Philippines has got a young, vibrant generation who are very eager to work.
01:55 And English is widely spoken in the Philippines.
01:58 So it is actually easy for international businesses to come and work in the Philippines because you don't have the language barrier.
02:05 According to Simango, their investment company is also involved in humanitarian projects in different parts of the world.
02:12 That's why they didn't hesitate to join the flagship program of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:19 But when it comes to the housing project, it's at the heart of what the group stands for, giving back.
02:25 Our corporate social responsibility, that's what it is.
02:29 So we are very passionate about this to develop and transform lives.
02:33 This is at the heart of His Excellency and the administration to make sure that every Filipino becomes a homeowner.
02:40 Every Filipino is uplifted and has an opportunity to have something that they call their own.
02:48 I understand there's a deficit of about 6 million homes that need to be built, of which we as an organization are happy to partner with the administration to make sure this vision comes to life.
03:01 Simango said that there are 40,000 Filipino nurses working in the National Health Service of the United Kingdom.
03:08 They will be a huge benefit to the country if they join the 4PH program.
03:14 If the government is giving them this opportunity to invest back into the country from working in the United Kingdom and then sending money to purchase their own properties, it will also boost the economy.
03:28 Aside from the expected economic growth in the town of Balete due to the hard work of the local residents, Simango believes that the 4PH program will greatly benefit the youth, especially in their education and education.
03:45 When children come from a good home, they will no longer underperform because they're coming from a stable, steady household.
03:52 Even their mental well-being, these kids will be able to face the world and do whatever they can.
03:57 For Cherry Covarrubias, treasurer of Zonus Group Philippines, the government's aggressive move to use Zero Informal Settler Families, or ISF, in the country is a big example to the critics of the administration.
04:12 She just wants to prove that she's really committed to uplift the lives of every Filipino.
04:20 I've been defending the legacy of the late president, the former first lady, and also BBM.
04:28 That housing is a big deal.
04:33 So stop destabilizing.
04:36 That's just crazy.
04:38 Our town is one, Dominic.
04:40 Why are you breaking it?
04:42 You should help.
04:44 Find a way to help.
04:46 Now that all the agreements and documents have been planned, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Balete Lakeview Residences will continue.
04:56 So Father Dioniso will not be able to hide his disappointment, especially since the developer can finish the project within two years.
05:05 Thank you very much, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
05:09 I just realized how important our government is to us, like the OFW.
05:16 Because in my 15 years of working abroad, I was not able to build a nice house.
05:22 This is the only place where I can experience having a small farm that I will pay for.
05:29 It's decent and beautiful.
