00:05 The Extro Camp Badminton 2024 is now at its end,
00:08 where Puchong Sports Centre is the last destination in the quest for talent from Akaunbi.
00:13 The Executive Director of the Extro Group, CEO of Extro, Ewan Smith,
00:17 believes the programme can contribute to the development of badminton in the country.
00:21 Together, the Extro Camp Badminton and the Malaysian Badminton Association, BAM,
00:25 are working together to become one of the main channels in promoting the badminton industry in Malaysia.
00:32 So I think, Ken Badminton has kind of established itself as the model for what good looks like, yeah?
00:39 We're a real national grassroots programme that is producing great players
00:45 that then can go on to be in the national team and lots of exercise initiatives and wellness, etc.
00:50 I think we want to take that model, which we've now actually done an undertaking with the Badminton Association of Malaysia,
00:57 which recognises what we're doing in badminton.
00:59 We'd like to do that now for other sports.
01:02 So if you look at the sports we're now bringing to the Astro platform,
01:06 sepak takraw, netball, volleyball, they're all on Astro, they're all on sukkah.
01:11 Our aspiration is to build the same kind of grassroots programme,
01:15 so that kids, whatever sport they want to get excited by, whatever their aspiration is,
01:19 Astro's helping to kind of birth the next generation of superstar sports stars,
01:25 but also helping to birth the next generation of exercise conscious, climate conscious people, yeah?
01:30 I mean, the Rimba Keta Run's another example, right?
01:33 I, for what it's worth, go and do my 5k run for Rimba Keta.
01:37 But it's all about getting people out into nature, out into the rainforest, doing exercise,
01:42 understanding more about what's happening in the climate and how they can help.
