00:00 Foot injury is one of the reasons behind the coup d'etat against former Senate President Mig Zubiri, according to Senator Bato de la Rosa.

00:09 Zubiri did not allow Senator Bong Revilla to attend the Senate session online.

00:21 In the middle of the May 13 session, before Senator Mig Zubiri resigned as Senate President,

00:27 Senator Francis Tolentino asked the Senate rules,

00:30 not to mention Senator Bong Revilla's condition of having a foot injury.

00:33 Is he really required to be physically present during hearings?

00:39 I'm referring, Mr. President, to the Honorable Senator Ramon Bong Revilla.

00:44 I always see that there's a lack of wheelchair.

00:49 The rules are very explicit.

00:50 We only amended the rules for online sessions for COVID-infected individuals or those that have contagious diseases.

01:00 He attended a political party rally in Manila Polo Club, was seen by everybody standing beside our president,

01:08 and therefore he seems fit to be able to join us.

01:12 And he joined us last Wednesday.

01:14 We are not here to be pitied.

01:18 Who would want to be absent?

01:20 That's why I want to be online.

01:24 During our last session, I attended.

01:27 But my foot is injured.

01:33 So it's okay, Mr. President.

01:35 Even if my foot is injured, no problem for the country.

01:41 In the end, Revilla was allowed to have virtual attendance while recovering from the operation.

01:46 According to Senator Bato De La Rosa, this was the plan of the Senate President to make Zubiri go crazy.

02:00 This triggered Senator Meigs' departure when the artists got angry.

02:06 Zubiri said that he didn't stop at De La Rosa's hearing on pedialyx,

02:14 We tried to get Zubiri's statement on this.

02:17 But Senator Nancy Binay was the one who spoke for the group they call Solid 7.

02:23 Binay said that it's weird to think that the reason he left was because of his foot injury.

02:30 Revilla said in GMA Integrated News that there are many problems before the discussion on his injury.

02:37 In the HASS interviews, Professor Aris Arugay of the UP Department of Political Science said

02:42 that the change of the Senate leader is a big challenge for the Senators to show their independence.

02:49 I hope that the personal side of me will be reduced.

02:53 My feelings, my interests, my mind.

02:57 But given their public disturbance, it's the public interest that should bloom large rather than the personal interest.
