00:00 Hi guys, we're just here at the Red House in Albrighton and we're here with the Albrighton
00:04 Village Action Group meeting this evening, quite an important one with the MP. Just fill
00:09 us in on what it's all about guys, perhaps we can start with you sir.
00:13 Yeah, well we're here with Mark Pritchard who's opposing the development from Bonningdale
00:18 Homes. Bonningdale Homes are already developing a large site on Albrighton and plan to, I
00:24 think stick another 900 houses on top and it's completely out of line with the local
00:31 plan that's been agreed with the parish council and the local council group and quite frankly
00:36 the village wouldn't be able to cope with that amount of houses.
00:41 It's massive isn't it, 62% increase, I mean it's just crazy isn't it, you know, because
00:46 Albrighton is quite a traditional kind of smaller village, it's just going to swamp
00:50 it isn't it, is that what you're feeling?
00:51 Yeah, because it's a lovely community, I mean I've only recently moved here but I've got
00:55 family that have been here for years, held one of the local businesses and the reason
01:00 I've moved here is because of the community and that's what would go ashore if there's
01:04 this level of development.
01:07 And you'd echo that sentiment?
01:09 Definitely, yeah, the issue really is not against development but it's got to be development
01:13 that's sustainable and in the right place and this development is proposed on the south
01:17 side of Albrighton so all the future residents there would have to travel through the village,
01:23 existing roads and lanes wouldn't be able to cope with that amount of traffic, congestion
01:27 safety issue, people walking, cyclists, horses and to get some connections they'd have to
01:32 come through the village and we wouldn't be able to sustain that amount of traffic so
01:35 it's a worry really.
