00:00 Well obviously there's been an influx of loads of money into the market since Covid,
00:05 which obviously caused the inflation, property prices go up, rent prices go up.
00:10 But yeah I think obviously me, I'm 25 so coming from the generation I come from,
00:16 I know a lot of people my age are finding it tough to get on the property ladder
00:19 or even struggling to pay rent.
00:22 I rent from the from the council at the moment so I'm not sure about private tenants so I'd
00:27 have to ask I'd have to ask someone that that is renting privately but I with with the council
00:32 I've always had a good experience and it's been I've never had any problems with that.
00:36 I've only lived here for like two years because I'm a student.
00:39 I'll say I mean I'll rent when I'm higher but I'm pretty sure like anywhere else will be the same,
00:48 like can't really stop that especially it's like student area like where I'm staying right now it's
00:53 very like student areas near uni so definitely will go higher higher like no one can stop it
00:59 except the landlords themselves but at the same time people are greedy they just want money
01:03 over time they never feel enough and I feel like they've got lots of student accommodation as well
01:08 I think in town they're building one over there and I just think that's I mean it's nice that
01:13 to see yourself welcoming students but at the same time for the locals in terms of like
01:19 economically I don't think it's good.
01:20 I own the property myself so and it wasn't easy to get there so yeah it is difficult but
01:25 I'd say obviously the more money gets printed into the economy asset prices go up and it makes
01:32 it difficult for younger and younger people to be able to get onto the ladder so they are having to
01:35 force force themselves into renting ways and sharing you know HMOs and stuff like that it's
01:40 getting more and more difficult like I say I can see more and more sharing over the next five to
01:43 ten years sharing you know renting rooms are shared houses shared and that kind of stuff
01:50 unless there's an alternative which there isn't because there isn't enough space and the population
01:53 keeps increasing so yeah I'd say it's getting tougher and tougher and if you're younger try
01:57 getting to the property ladder as soon as you can.
