00:00Hi there, Conor Gormley here. I'm a trainee reporter for Sussex World and this is our daily news bulletin where I run you through all of the biggest stories across both East and West Sussex today.
00:12A new Dean of Chichester was appointed, sorry, a new Dean of Chichester Cathedral was appointed yesterday.
00:18Dr Edward Dowler is hoping to use his wealth of experience with church communities in places like Hastings and Crowborough
00:24to help make Chichester Cathedral the centre of the community on the south coast, connecting church communities that have historically been quite difficult to bring together.
00:33And from the angels to the demons, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has been made the patron of the Blake's Cottage Trust, which maintains the William Blake Cottage over in Felfham.
00:43It's the last remaining property that William Blake was believed to have lived in and he's also believed to have written the words to Jerusalem there.
00:51So it's a very important part of his creative legacy. Unfortunately, the cottage is in serious need of repair and it's been closed to the public for years.
01:01I don't think it's ever actually been open to them. But Bruce hopes that with his patronage as well as an auction of some of his memorabilia, the trust will have enough money to open its doors by 2027.
01:12That's the 200th anniversary of William Blake's death.
01:15Over in East Sussex, Queen Camilla is due to visit the historic town of Rye tomorrow.
01:20She'll see the 900 year old St Mary's Church where bells will ring out to commemorate her arrival and she'll greet a range of local figures and representatives from local organisations.
01:32That's all from me for today. But for more from Sussex World, do make sure to visit our website.
01:37That's www.sussexworld.co.uk. Follow us on social media and, of course, buy your local newspaper.
01:44Thanks very much.
