(Adnkronos) - “In Italia però siamo all’ultimo posto nella classifica europea e al 79° posto del Global gender gap index del World Economic Forum in termini di politiche occupazionali”. Lo dice Barbara Falcomer, Direttore Generale Valore D intervistata durante l’evento “Donne, Lavoro e Sfide Demografiche” tenutosi all’Auditorium Palazzo del Lavoro di Gi Group Holding.

00:00 What are the future of the European Union?
00:04 We have seen and we have heard from countries very similar to Italy
00:08 that there is a direct positive correlation between the birth rate and female employment.
00:13 And we, in terms of female employment, are in the last place in the European rankings
00:18 and also in the 79th place of the Global Gender Gap Index at the World Economic Forum.
00:24 So there is really a lot to do in terms of employment policy.
00:28 Social infrastructures to support parenting
00:32 - we like to talk about parenting more than maternity - are inadequate.
00:36 So here too we have a delay to be taken into account compared to the most industrialized countries
00:42 of which we are part, we are in the 10th place.
00:45 And then we have a theme of stereotypes that still assign, in a fairly traditional culture,
00:50 the role of care, predominantly to women.
00:52 So there is a lot to work on.
00:54 And on many levels, integrated policies are needed, public-private collaboration is needed,
00:59 because companies have started, they are doing a lot, they are open-minded,
01:03 but they cannot do everything, they cannot solve this crucial issue.
01:06 So it is a sustainability issue that must be put at the center of the policies of this country.
01:12 Companies can do their part, but we need to work together.
