00:00What's your favourite thing about Glasgow?

00:02Well, probably the football, first and foremost.

00:04The people, of course, you know.

00:07To be honest, it's an unpopular opinion, but I love the people of Glasgow.

00:10Favourite things about Glasgow is the architecture.

00:12You can walk around the city and spend the whole time looking up

00:15and see absolutely amazing things. I really, really like that.

00:18No matter where you go in the world, you'll never find an accent like the Glaswegian accent.

00:21You can always tell what part of Glasgow they're from.

00:23It gives me a sense of home, even though I wasn't born in Glasgow.

00:25It just gives me a sense that I belong.

00:26Other than that, I think the people, how friendly they are.

00:31Probably the architecture, just the way of life.

00:34Everything's laid back and nothing really goes wrong these days.

00:39What else? The weather?

00:41I like what's happening down at the side of the river.

00:44The bridge, Squinty Bridge, and looking at all the buildings there,

00:47the new BBC building and everything that's down there. It looks pretty cool.

00:50When I was growing up, in the 70s, it was always a bother.

00:56I would say now it's fine.

01:00Coming from Edinburgh myself, I'd say the cuisine.

01:05Fried marshmallow, isn't it? It's so good.

01:08The architecture speaks a lot to me because I'm a poet and I'm an actor as well.

01:13I feel like Glasgow is the place where all creativity comes from.

01:16A lot of people don't know that a lot of modern things come from Glasgow.

01:20Inventions, poetry, absolutely everything. It just feels like it's in an artist's heaven.

01:25What areas have you lived in?

01:28I lived in the West End. I loved living there.

01:31Really nice, chilled-out vibes there and lots of nice people.

01:34Lots to see and do, lots of places to eat.

01:37I've lived on the south side as well, down by Hampden, the stadium at Kings Park.

01:43Now I've moved out of Glasgow, but I commute in.

01:47I've been to Sugo recently. It's quite good.

01:52I've not really tried that many, to be honest. I'm open to suggestions at the moment.

01:56I've only been working here for five weeks.
