00:00 Nottinghamshire Mining Museum has launched two new exhibitions. Here is a more in-depth look at the new exhibition around women's involvement in the miners' strike of 1984-85.
00:14 Upon arrival, you are handed a booklet to enhance your experience and the exhibition really takes inspiration from Hearts and Minds, which is a book about the women's action groups during the strike.
00:27 For me, it's probably the thing I'm most proudest of in my entire life. I suppose like all of us do many things, but I just, the courage of these women in 1984 and 1985 and this desperate struggle to save communities, to save pits, to save lineages.
00:49 And what these women went through, like Sally here, who had to feed their families and keep their homes warm. They need to be remembered.
01:01 The story needs to be told. It's 40 years ago and it's bringing back memories to me. Some of the memories are good ones, but some are very hard.
01:11 People that came in, I've been absolutely amazed at what we've done. It took us a while, but yeah, I think we're very, very proud of what we've got up at this time.
