00:00So, Will, starting with Liverpool and Darwin Nunes, obviously been quite hit or miss during
00:05his time at Liverpool. He's produced some absolute 10 out of 10 performances and then
00:10you know, some of the lower numbers as well. I mean, it's been quite a strange period for
00:14him, but in terms of the latest, obviously deleted all of his Instagram posts on social
00:19media of his time at Liverpool, which is quite interesting. What do you make of his situation
00:24at the moment?
00:26I would just say that, I think, if there's a footballer who defines someone who plays
00:34off impulse, it is probably Darwin Nunes. You know, we've seen him cause absolute chaos
00:39in games, as you said. He's an enigma, that's what he is. Some games, you just don't know
00:44what you're going to get for him. But, you know, his first season coming in the same
00:49summer as Haaland, and maybe there were unfair comparisons to him and Ayland Haaland, and
00:55he hadn't played a lot of top level before and, you know, he was unpolished. It didn't
00:59help that he got sent off against Crystal Palace early on. But there were signs there
01:03and in the first part of the season, you're thinking maybe it's starting to click, but
01:07certainly since the problems again are coming to the fore and he finds himself out of the
01:14Liverpool team for a player who's arrived for a fee of £75 million, coverage £85 million,
01:21he should be starting week in, week out, unless you rest him for a game or he's injured.
01:27And yeah, it just hasn't been quite working for him. What's gone wrong lately? I'm not
01:33too sure because it's not like, you know, he struggled in a team that has been struggling
01:38in general. So maybe that's a mitigating circumstance and, you know, the chances are still going
01:44astray and, you know, I always think back to that one at Brentford where he lobbed the
01:47keeper, an unbelievable finish, but he did take it the hard way. Why didn't he have the
01:52composure to maybe go round to the keeper? So was that a flaw of his? And, you know,
01:59obviously the decision to delete him sparks a few rumours, the debate has raised, is he
02:08going to be departing Liverpool in the summer? But you would like to think that he's still
02:12only 24, raw attributes. You would like to think that Arnie Slott's looking at him and
02:19thinking, well, we can still try and get the best out of Darwin Nunes. He's obviously a
02:24player who you wouldn't want to play against him, let's be honest, if you're a defender.
02:30You would not want to come up against him and, you know, you could say, oh, he goes
02:34through on goals, conversion rates isn't great, but you don't want to give a forward a chance
02:38at that. But, you know, he is a handful and he still needs to polish his game and it doesn't
02:44help that he's still learning the language. But I think in the third season you've got to
02:50give him a chance for pre-season, see what he can do and what he can do under a new manager.
