00:00 The media is starting to push out the is Miami back narrative again.
00:06 ESPN referred to that phrase as what they called an overreaction.
00:12 And they're making it sound like Miami fans had been proclaiming this. So yeah, to say Miami is
00:18 back, that probably would be an overreaction for a team that hasn't done much in a really long time.
00:24 The problem is I don't know where the reaction comes from for this overreaction. So
00:29 ESPN, they like to do their way too early college football rankings, which do come out way too early
00:35 every spring. Actually, I think they come out in late winter. And so on ESPN.com, they went through
00:41 all 25 members and Miami comes in at number 24, all 25 members of their way too early top 25.
00:48 And they list an overreaction for all of these programs coming out of spring football. And you'll
00:54 notice something. A lot of their overreactions for various other teams are actually negative
01:01 reactions that they argue with to spin that program in a positive light. Like, oh no,
01:06 it's not so bad. Actually, your team's really good. In Miami's case, they went straight to
01:11 with your number 24 Miami Hurricanes is Miami back. Andrea Adelson writes, okay,
01:18 we won't finish the sentence, but expectations are building in Miami again, after a spring game in
01:23 which transfer quarterback cam ward through for over 300 yards and look like he will put himself
01:28 in contention for preseason ACC player of the year. Now compare that with what they consider
01:34 to be overreactions for Florida state coming out of spring football. They say overreaction,
01:40 the offense will take a step back. Like, don't worry. The offense will be fantastic for Clemson.
01:45 We'll stick with the ACC on this. The overreaction is the offense is a disaster. You see the theme
01:51 there. They take negative reactions for other programs to spin it in a positive for Miami fans.
01:56 Again, they attribute the whole Miami is back thing. ESPN has a nasty, but clever habit of
02:04 putting words in the mouths of Miami fans every single year, because if Miami doesn't meet that
02:10 expectation that they created and claim our fans created it, what happens then they turn on us
02:17 immediately. And then of course you get the rival fans all gassed up. Like, you know what Florida
02:23 state fans in Florida fans are reading that way. They're saying Miami is back. Listen to those
02:28 delusional idiots. Listen to those idiot Miami fans. They're saying that they're back. Well,
02:35 no, actually it's not really us that's saying it. And actually it comes from an ESPN writer who
02:41 covers Miami, even though they graduated from the university of Florida, according to their
02:46 LinkedIn bio. And listen, our, our zero Miami fans saying the canes are back and the canes are
02:53 going to win a championship. Oh, not zero. I'm sure some people are saying it. Not sane. People
03:00 are saying that. And folks, obviously we cover Miami very positively on this channel. You know,
03:08 I'm an alumnus and I legitimately think what's happening in terms of a program building
03:12 standpoint, a lot of really good things are happening in Coral Gables. And Miami is working
03:17 on trying to build a contender. Miami's all in approach. It's evident and it's appreciated by
03:23 most of Miami's fans. Obviously two great recruiting classes, consecutively successful
03:29 moves in the transfer portal, including grabbing the top rated transfer quarterback at the time
03:34 and cam ward top rated running back at the time, Miami grabbed him and Damien Martinez, but
03:40 rational, true Miami fans, nobody's saying Miami is back until the hurricanes actually
03:48 back it up on the field with results.
