NASUWT strike action at Rothwell Junior School teaching staff say there is a bullying culture and their concerns have not been listened to
Transcript
00:00NASUWT members have taken action at Rothwell Junior School because quite frankly they've said
00:05enough is enough. We've done a second well-being survey with the employer, Pathfinder Trust.
00:13We have paused the action, we did pause the action to allow some time to
00:18consider our members' concerns and quite frankly members decided that they're not satisfied with
00:23the results of the investigation, not satisfied with the recommendations, so members have decided
00:29that yeah enough's enough and they voted to carry on with industrial action. But as ever the NASUWT
00:37determined still to work with the employer, seek a resolution, so that's what we're going to be
00:43doing. We've announced three further dates of strike action and yeah we hope that we can sit
00:48with the employer, find a resolution that meets our members' demands. Effectively now they are
00:55We're not just asking for things, members are demanding change. They want their professionalism
01:00back, they want to be valued as teachers and they want to be able to get on with their job
01:04quite frankly. Free of this toxic culture that exists at this school and they want their well-being
01:10to be taken seriously. Toxic culture sadly is a bullying culture that exists at this school
01:17and members have had enough, they're not going to put up with it anymore.
