00:00 So I love the film. You, it just gave me all the feelings and excitement.
00:04 That's one of our taglines in the movie, you know, all the feels.
00:07 Gave me all the feels. So talk to me about transforming into a pop star.
00:11 Did you have a vocal background? Were you a dancer? How'd it go down?
00:14 I mean, I was definitely not a dancer. I had sung before, but like not really in a
00:21 professional capacity and I'd never had any formal training for it. So, you know,
00:25 the prospect of performing in this capacity, I think was very daunting.
00:28 Uh, I had such a fun time preparing it. It was, it's, it's honestly such a joy to be able to
00:35 get on a stage and pretend to be a pop star.
00:37 Did your Abercrombie and Fitch days prepare you for this role?
00:41 Never have spoken about that. I should never have spoken about it. Uh, I don't,
00:46 I wouldn't say so. I don't know if I don't know how much that prepared me for anything really.
00:49 So your chemistry read with Anne was an interesting one. Tell me how
00:55 that went down. It was an interesting challenge. How did you approach that?
00:59 Honestly, it was one of those things where I really just wanted to kind of let go and be,
01:06 and be present. Cause I knew there was like a huge amount to do, you know, there was the acting,
01:12 the singing, the dancing. And, um, I think I was very lucky that the room was so conducive to,
01:17 to succeed. And, you know, between Michael, between Annie, you know, Kathy Shulman,
01:22 Bernie, our casting director, they all really, I felt wanted me to succeed. And so, um, I just
01:28 had a really fantastic time. Did you pick a song and then you guys started dancing?
01:32 That's what happened. So what song did you pick?
01:34 So I picked, um, Always All Right by Alabama Shakes. And then I think we ended up actually
01:39 doing it again to Dancehall Days by Wang Chung, which is in the, which is in the movie. Yeah.
01:44 Fantastic. Yeah. A lot of fans of the book imagined Harry Styles when they read the book.
01:49 So did you draw any inspo from Harry? I think the script was so wonderful and really, um,
01:56 there wasn't any need for, for any other sort of outside references. It seems to all be kind of
02:01 there in the script. And then, you know, working with Michael, I mean, he's such an actor's director
02:06 and he really delegates all the sort of power to you to be able to kind of, you know,
02:10 texturize them. And so it really just kind of came very organically to me.
02:14 Finally, is there a favorite scene of yours that you just loved shooting with Anne?
02:18 I'd say the, um, the room service scene was a lot of fun. We, cause that was all improvised and,
02:25 and, you know, it was like 3am in the morning or something. So we just had a good time dancing
02:29 around with each other. So fun. I can't wait for everyone to see this. You're fantastic. Enjoyed
02:33 tonight.
