00:00 Robin Park Runners!
00:02 My name's Mark Harrison, I own Robin Park Runners in Wigan.
00:07 At the moment we have about 92 members.
00:10 We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sunday mornings.
00:15 We cover distances around 5 miles in the week to around about 10 miles on a Sunday morning.
00:22 We've been going as a group now for about 5 years.
00:28 We got our affiliation in 2023, so this is our second year of being an affiliated athletics club.
00:37 We don't nominate ourselves or push ourselves to be a racing club as such.
00:42 We're more of a social running group.
00:45 We offer a more social running environment for people who've had anxieties and different things.
00:52 We get them out in a group environment. It's more of a social run.
00:57 We cover all different routes up and around Wigan.
00:59 Anybody who wishes to join us, we have a Facebook page and an Instagram page which is just Robin Park Runners Wigan.
01:05 If they get in touch with us through that, one of our run leaders or myself will reply and give you all the details you need to come down and join us.
01:13 Hi, I'm Mike Shannon, I'm one of the run leaders with Robin Park Runners.
01:17 I got onto a Couch to 5K class just a short three years ago now.
01:24 I've progressed through the ranks, worked my way up to run leader, really committed to the club and it's fantastic members.
01:28 We are here three times a week in all weathers.
01:31 Coming up this Saturday, organised by the fabulous Louise and Paul Blackledge, we're doing the takeover at Wigan Park Run at Hay.
01:37 We'll be manning the marshalling stations, we'll be looking after the barcode scanners and just generally cheering everyone on as we go around the tough course that is Hay Hall Park Run.
01:47 The main thing for me especially is the physical and mental side of things, so it's really good for both physical and mental health and mood and wellbeing in general.
01:54 general.
