00:00 What's up, I'm Jayne Daniels and this is my real life diet.
00:03 [MUSIC]
00:13 Breakfast, we got an omelet, bacon and hash browns.
00:17 It's a time of day because if I work out at 9, 9.30,
00:20 I got to wake up at 7 and eat breakfast.
00:22 I'm just trying to bulk up for my rookie year.
00:24 That's something that me and my nutritionist have talked about so
00:27 I can get up and eat breakfast for my workout and I'm ready to go.
00:31 First thing I do when I wake up, well, I mean my breakfast, drink water.
00:35 I first started taking my diet seriously when I got to LSU.
00:38 I thought I could always get away with eating fast food and
00:41 hot chips and candy and stuff like that before a game.
00:44 And I didn't think it affected me until you kind of get that broken down to you and
00:47 you realize that you need all the energy that you can have.
00:50 [MUSIC]
00:52 I train five times a week.
00:54 Wednesdays be my off day from throwing, but I'm throwing four times a week and
00:58 the other days I'm working on lifting, usually twice a day for most days.
01:02 When I'm training that much, obviously I'm exerting a lot of energy and
01:05 burning a lot of calories.
01:06 I have to eat at least four times a day, breakfast and with two snacks in between.
01:11 On my off day, I'm usually eating at least three meals because obviously I'm not
01:14 burning as much, most definitely not a vegetarian eater.
01:17 I like what I like.
01:17 There's some things I don't like and it's non-negotiable for me.
01:20 [MUSIC]
01:21 Now we're at lunch, we got salmon, rice and broccoli.
01:25 [MUSIC]
01:27 Probably around 11, I might be going from one workout to the next workout.
01:31 So I try to eat something that's quick and easy and not too heavy.
01:34 I work out at nine and I'm probably done at like 10, 45, almost 11.
01:38 And then from there I'm grabbing the food out the fridge, warming it up and
01:42 I'm eating this and I probably have like 45 minutes to let it digest and
01:47 get ready for the next workout.
01:48 [MUSIC]
01:50 I'm not too worried about the calories,
01:51 that's why I have other people around me that worry about that.
01:54 I'm more focused on eating the food.
01:56 I could get away with a lot of cheat meals cuz of how I'm built, but
02:00 I really just like eating fast food, so kind of Popeye's chicken.
02:03 A daily routine, you kind of just prepare for a college season.
02:06 You don't really have this much time off to train.
02:09 You're over at school working out with your teammates and
02:11 everything in the weight room.
02:13 You schedule workouts.
02:15 Here, you treat it like a pro, the schedule is on you.
02:18 For me, QB training to lifting.
02:20 QB specific training for me is kind of just throwing the ball,
02:24 redefining my mechanics, just fine tuning my craft.
02:28 If I didn't eat and I went to train, I wouldn't notice a difference.
02:31 Obviously, I don't have enough energy necessary to get through the workout.
02:35 I might be able to get away with it in the QB training, but when I go lift,
02:39 you're doing a lot of different stuff.
02:41 You might need to take a seat, catch your breath a little bit.
02:45 [MUSIC]
02:47 Next up is a snack, my cheat snack is honey buns.
02:50 [MUSIC]
02:51 It never go wrong with some honey buns.
02:53 I can eat multiple in a day.
02:55 I don't know if that's good or bad, but it works out for me.
02:57 I've been eating them since I was a kid, so I don't know if it made me feel like
03:00 a kid, bringing childhood memories back, but I just love honey buns.
03:03 Can't change too much.
03:05 Probably smash like two honey buns and then kind of take a nap, so
03:08 I can recharge for the rest of the day.
03:09 I can't cut out the honey buns.
03:12 I can take those home after.
03:13 But my next meal meal will be around like 5, 5.30 and that'll be dinner.
03:17 [MUSIC]
03:18 We got spaghetti and meatballs with some garlic bread.
03:21 You always gotta have some on the side.
03:24 At this point in time, I've probably been training four or
03:26 five hours of training between two workouts.
03:29 It won't be my last, but it's my third one.
03:31 Just to replenish it from the whole day, anything that I missed.
03:35 My mom, she always cooked spaghetti.
03:36 As a kid, that's just something I just fell in love with,
03:39 it's kind of just eating pasta.
03:40 As I got older and I went off to college,
03:42 I kind of just learned how to cook spaghetti on my own, put my own flavor to it.
03:46 My favorite meal, so I can for sure cook that.
03:48 Other stuff I probably have to learn, but
03:49 I know I can make this with my eyes closed.
03:51 In college, we usually play night games, so we wouldn't get out till late.
03:55 Places were kind of closing down, restaurants.
03:57 Now I'm kind of eating pasta, the same thing.
03:59 Might not be spaghetti and meatballs, it might be chicken alfredo or
04:02 something like that, but I'm eating some pasta.
04:04 It has a lot of carbs in it.
04:06 Carbs are good for when you want to bulk up and put on weight.
04:09 Pasta sticks on you a little bit more than other foods.
04:12 [MUSIC]
04:13 Kind of learned that from a young age, that I was able to do things that most kids
04:18 weren't able to do, winning the most athletic in junior high, elementary school.
04:23 And I was kind of winning that consistently, and so
04:25 I knew at that point I was kind of different than a lot of kids.
04:28 Not the last thing I eat.
04:30 I'll probably sneak something in later on.
04:32 Sometimes I'm up later than I really should be.
04:35 I'm done eating, I'm probably hopping on the game with some of my friends.
04:38 Madden is the game I play a lot.
04:40 You know you get hungry, so I might walk downstairs and
04:43 probably grab a Honey Bun or something like that.
04:45 [MUSIC]
04:47 We got the forbidden, what I try not to eat every day,
04:49 ice cream with chocolate chip cookies.
04:51 [MUSIC]
04:52 I got a sweet tooth, kind of goes against my diet and everything, and
04:56 what I'm trying to accomplish.
04:57 So when I feel like I deserve it, I take a chance and I go out and eat it.
05:00 Bedtime for me, probably like 11 o'clock, trying to get as much rest as possible.
05:04 I try to eat this at least like two hours before, so I'm not up all night.
05:08 I think my diet will change each and every year.
05:10 It just depends on what I'm trying to accomplish with my body.
05:12 Am I trying to maintain?
05:14 Am I trying to bulk up some more?
05:17 Right now I'm trying to bulk up and gain, so when next year comes,
05:20 we'll figure out where I'm at and where I need to get to and
05:24 what I feel like I need to accomplish.
05:25 Appreciate y'all for watching.
05:27 I'll see you on the field.
05:28 [MUSIC]
