00:04 Just after my dad had passed in 1999, my mum then passed away, unfortunately, in 2001.
00:12 And as a family, we wanted to be able to do something with some purpose for, to remember them,
00:21 so we decided to get involved with the Hospice Walks.
00:24 So, in 2002 was our first Hospice Walk. My two sisters, my daughters, my niece and friends,
00:31 we all decided that we would start some fundraising and we thought the perfect opportunity was the Hospice Walks.
00:38 I have missed a few over the years, but my sister Alison has done every single Hospice Walk from 2002.
00:46 Over the years, we have been able to raise thousands for the Hospice.
00:51 The importance of the Hospice Walk, if you are out walking, you know what, everybody is going through the same sort of things.
00:58 And a lot of the walking and support, you will talk the whole way through it, you will talk about your memories,
01:05 all the good times, the laughs that you have had, all the happy memories.
01:10 And there is a sense of a community, because everybody is in the same situation,
01:16 everybody is doing it in memory of someone.
