Jeff Hafley, BC practice was cancelled, his opening remarks

00:00 Hey everybody, appreciate you coming on.

00:04 As you guys probably read, we decided not to practice today.

00:09 You know, a bunch of things obviously have gone on in our country, and with the recent

00:15 events that happened, we felt it was best as a staff, as a team, not to practice.

00:24 And I felt very strongly about that.

00:28 And we got together this morning instead, and we first met as a team, and guys got up

00:35 and spoke, coaches got up and spoke.

00:40 And it was very touching, and it was very emotional.

00:42 And then we broke up into smaller groups, and we continued those conversations that

00:47 went on as probably longer than our practice would have went on.

00:53 With and into our players, of all different races and all backgrounds, we have an exceptional

01:02 team.

01:03 We have a great group of people.

01:05 We have a group of people who are hurting, and we have coaches who are hurting.

01:11 And we have another group of people who are trying to understand and become educated.

01:17 And we have a group of people who might have stood up today and said, "I'm sorry I haven't

01:22 said anything.

01:23 I don't know what to say.

01:25 And I do have empathy, and I do care, and I want to help."

01:30 And I do believe we had some really great conversations today, because things do need

01:38 to change.

01:39 There's too much hate, and there needs to be more love.

01:44 And it's sad.

01:47 I'm very, very proud of our football team and our coaching staff today.
