00:00 We're done with all training camps just one month away.
00:03 It's time to evaluate all 32 teams offseason moves.
00:07 I'm Claudette Montana-Pattison with SDI right now.
00:09 And joining me is James Rapine of All Bangles and Ed Kratz from Eagles Today.
00:14 James, let's start with you first and talk about the grades for teams in the AFC.
00:19 The Raiders, Chargers, Colts, Texans, Bangles, Broncos, Dolphins, and the Jets
00:24 all received A grades by our Fan Nation contributors.
00:28 So out of these eight teams, who do you think had the most successful offseason in your opinion?
00:33 Half the conference gets A's.
00:35 Either we're easy graders or the AFC might be the best it's ever been.
00:39 I actually think it's the latter.
00:40 You look top to bottom, it's a really tough conference.
00:43 And this is challenging because you look at whether it's the Raiders,
00:47 they addressed their biggest need.
00:49 They get a guy in Devontae Adams in a playmaking league.
00:51 Makes a ton of sense.
00:52 The Bangles, add offensive linemen.
00:54 Why didn't they win the Super Bowl? Because of their offensive line.
00:57 The two teams that stand out the most to me, let's start in Miami.
01:00 The Dolphins, we don't really know what Tua Tungavailoa is yet.
01:04 And what did they do?
01:05 They went and got a young, offensive-minded coach.
01:08 They go get two offensive linemen, and Connor Williams and Ron Armstead.
01:12 That should make Tua's life easier.
01:14 Oh, and they got the best deep threat that we've seen in the past decade in Tyree Kill.
01:18 It should be a fun team to watch, but they're certainly talented.
01:22 And by the way, they did extend Xavion Howard.
01:24 So that's a big get for them to keep him around.
01:27 The other team, the Denver Broncos.
01:29 I thought Denver had a playoff team around their quarterback, right?
01:34 And it was Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Locke last year,
01:37 but they didn't have the quarterback.
01:38 And now they do.
01:39 And whether it's Cortland Sutton, whether it's Jerry Judy,
01:42 whether it's KJ Handler coming back from the ACL,
01:44 Tim Patrick, and Devontae Williams,
01:46 they have a ton of weapons around a guy in Russell Wilson,
01:50 who I think is going to be pretty motivated to prove people wrong.
01:52 So I think the Dolphins and the Broncos, they hit grand slams this offseason.
01:56 All right, Ed, coming to you next.
01:59 The Rams, Saints, and Eagles all received A grades.
02:02 Would you agree that they had the most success this offseason out of all the teams in the NFC?
02:08 Yeah, I mean, that seems like a pretty reasonable list.
02:11 There's no question that the AFC holds the balance of power.
02:15 It doesn't mean they have the best team.
02:17 Of course, we know the best team is the Los Angeles Rams.
02:20 They proved it. They won the Super Bowl last year.
02:23 And to me, yeah, they deserve an A.
02:26 I mean, anytime you can sign Cooper Cupp to a contract extension,
02:30 one of the best wide receivers in the game today, that to me is an A.
02:35 Now, listen, they're not without questions like every other team.
02:38 They have to find a replacement for Andrew Whitworth, who retired at left tackle.
02:43 They lost Vaughn Miller to the Buffalo Bills in free agency.
02:47 So there are some issues that need addressed.
02:49 And, of course, there's always that Super Bowl hangover effect that they're going to have to figure out how to overcome.
02:55 We don't see too many teams repeat as Super Bowl champions.
02:59 So that's kind of going to be another obstacle that they're going to have to overcome.
03:02 But, yeah, I like what they did in the offseason.
03:05 The Eagles, you know, listen, they surprised a lot of people by going all in in free agency with guys like Hassan Redick,
03:13 who has 23 and a half sacks the last two years, which is one of the top numbers in the league in that span, those two years.
03:22 They bring in James Bradbury, a veteran cornerback to line up opposite your Pro Bowl corner, Darius Slay.
03:29 They bring in Khyzier White from the Chargers, someone who can cover tight ends, which was an issue.
03:34 And then, of course, on offense, they trade for A.J. Brown and give him a $100 million contract.
03:39 So now you have two wide receivers that are one and one in Philadelphia with Devontae Smith,
03:45 who is expected to take a big leap from year one to year two, like a lot of players do.
03:50 And now you have A.J. Brown riding shotgun with him.
03:53 It's a phenomenal one, two punch at the receiver spot.
03:57 And then you have two of the top cornerbacks in Slay and Bradbury.
04:00 So, you know, this team really went all in in the offseason.
04:04 I like what they did. The Saints, yeah, they have a new head coach, Dennis Allen.
04:09 They lost Sean Payton, obviously. So that's going to be a proving ground for him.
04:13 But I like some of the moves they made.
04:15 You know, they brought in the Tyronne Matteau, the safety, very talented safety coming back home to New Orleans.
04:24 You know, they're going to get Michael Thomas back.
04:26 I liked what they did in the draft, adding Chris Olave from Ohio State in that receiver group.
04:31 It's going to come down in New Orleans and even in Philadelphia to the quarterback.
04:35 You have Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia. And of course, you have Jameis Winston in New Orleans.
04:41 Can these two players elevate their team into the Super Bowl conversation?
04:46 But I think it's warranted these three teams getting A grades in the offseason, no doubt.
