00:00 How you doing gents? Fantastic day for Highley, the opening of the new Highley Medical Practice.
00:05 Good to be here.
00:06 It's been a fantastic day. It's ten years in the making.
00:10 Turning one of the worst physical locations for a medical practice into one of the best here in Highley.
00:17 And Stuart, you're supporting your own injuries at the minute, but you've hobbled here today too.
00:22 Fantastic for the area isn't it?
00:24 It's great to see a community come together to look at the vision.
00:27 I saw it last year with Philip who's been on this journey all the way through.
00:31 And to see the end result is absolutely amazing.
00:34 And it will be transformational for Highley, fully behind it.
00:38 This is Jess Harvey, Clinical Director. What a title.
00:42 I know, it sounds quite nice doesn't it?
00:44 It's good, it's good.
00:45 It's a special day today.
00:47 We've just got the building behind you which is where you have been having to operate out of.
00:52 What does it mean then to the community and to yourselves as practitioners having this new facility?
00:58 Essentially I've just been part of a group who have helped to get this new health and wellbeing centre
01:05 starting to be established within the 7th Centre behind us.
01:07 British North Medical Practice have now taken over Highley
01:10 and they've been working out of this portacabin that we're standing next to.
01:13 But are going to be hopefully moving soon into the main building inside.
01:16 I think what we're really trying to create there is just an amazing resource that's going to be there for patients.
01:21 So not only looking at their medical care but there's so much more on offer there.
01:25 And that's what we're hoping to really do is just kind of create a space where people can connect.
01:29 Where people can feel safe, where they can have lots of other services delivered to them as well as their medical services.
