The grimey scenes have been captured as the Canal & River Trust campaign for more funding amid government cuts.
Ecologists have also advised that bad weather conditions have led to more invasive plants which are attracting litter as they die off and heavy rainfall leading to more overflow from storm drains also damaging conditios.
