00:06 Hello, we're back with another edition of 5 Things to Do, and despite being a long,
00:09 long way from Halloween, thank goodness, we start this week with a ghost story. Directed
00:13 from London's West End and all the way to the Grand Theatre in Blackpool, 2.22 A Ghost
00:18 Story is a new stage phenomenon. Winner of Best New Play at the Watson Stage Awards,
00:24 this edge-of-your-seat supernatural thriller is written by Danny Robbins, the creator
00:28 of the hit BBC podcast Uncanny and the Battersea Poltergeist, and comes fresh from a record-breaking
00:34 season of five West End theatres and the host of acclaimed star performances including,
00:38 amongst others, Lily Allen, Cheryl, Stephanie Beatrix, Tom Felton, Jake Wood and James Buckley.
00:44 It's a brilliantly funny and adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may
00:48 or may not appear. There's a season-long set of performances from April 23rd to the
00:53 27th, and tickets are priced from £15.50 a ticket.
00:59 From ghosts to monsters next, this time at the Duke's Theatre in Lancaster, where they've
01:03 got a production of Frankenstein. As a couple confront their own fears about impending parenthood,
01:08 the story of Frankenstein erupts into life around them as everyday objects are transformed
01:13 into glaciers, a ship at sea, a dissecting room and a house on fire. Imitating the dog
01:19 and Leeds Playhouse multimedia exploration of Mary Shelley's gothic classic, it's
01:24 a psychological thriller which dares to ask the question, what is it to be human? That's
01:28 on from Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th, and tickets are £16.
01:35 Comedy next as we head to the Burnley Mechanics Theatre for Manford's Comedy Club. Every
01:40 show has a different line-up of four top comedians, all chosen by Jason Manford himself. It's
01:44 on April 26th and this week it features Katie Tracy, Phil Chapman, Adam Anwar and Rob Rouse.
01:52 Tickets for that are £14.
01:53 Let's have some music now because on Friday 26th April at King George's Hall in Blackburn,
01:59 you can experience an extraordinary and intimate evening with the iconic musician Badly Drawn
02:03 Boy. Renowned for his soulful and introspective songwriting, Badly Drawn Boy has captured
02:08 the hearts of music lovers from around the globe. Prepared to be transported by his live
02:12 acoustic performance as he brings his timeless hits to life with raw emotion and captivating
02:18 artistry. Engage in a thought-provoking conversation with the man himself as he shares his personal
02:23 anecdotes, inspirations and insights into his acclaimed body of work. Tickets for that
02:27 one, £24.
02:31 Lastly something completely different, how about a bit of calming yoga with goats. Whether
02:37 you're just beginning or you're looking to perfect your practice, a yoga class at Mrs
02:40 Dowson's farm in Blackburn with goats offers a very special way of connecting with nature.
02:45 Take part in a 40-minute vinyasa style yoga class and 20 minutes of free time where you
02:49 can pet the goats, take photos and relax in the pastures or indoor barn. Children 10 years
02:55 and older are welcome with accompanying parents or guardians and goats will wander freely
02:59 between you. It's on the 20th April and adult ticket is £16.99 per person per day but there
03:05 are plenty more dates throughout the summer so check their website for more dates and
03:08 availability.
03:10 Whatever floats your goat. Join me next week for another 5 things to do but in the meantime
03:15 take care and have a great week.
