00:39 So I will just tell you that it's a very sweet love story and it's not one of the films where the usual hero and the heroine run away and go and get married.
00:52 It's something that's being made for the first time and the audience is going to see a subject like this which is very unique.
00:59 Can you tell me the role of Mujhe Kuch Kehla Hai?
01:02 I'm playing the role of an NRI girl who comes to India for a research project and becomes friends with the hero, that's Dushar.
01:11 And she's basically, it's a role of a modern girl who's not very outgoing like how you have today's girls of today's generation.
01:23 She's a bit conservative in her thinking.
01:26 Can you tell me the story of Mujhe Kuch Kehla Hai?
01:29 It's a different kind of love story. It's about a boy who's having a hard time expressing his love.
01:36 That's why we have that saying, the unspoken love. So it's basically about a silent lover.
01:43 What's your role in this?
01:45 Well I'm the main protagonist in the film and I play a very normal guy who's having fun with his life but he comes to a point where he doesn't know what has happened to him.
01:58 He's fallen in love and then the film is about what happens after that.
02:03 To play this role, have you portrayed anyone?
02:06 Myself. Not anyone.
02:10 Karina, after a very serious kind of role in Refugee, this is a very petty one, what do you feel about this?
02:17 In Refugee I played a role of a very simple Pakistani girl. Whereas in this it has a lot of variety and a lot of spice.
02:28 Because now the audience gets to see me in a modern look. Something that's more youthful and more colourful.
02:37 As you can see, Refugee was shot in a desert. This is a kind of film which is shot on a very big landscape. Very vast budget.
02:45 Could you tell me about Karina?
02:48 She's a thorough professional. She's very natural in front of the camera. And she's a very good co-star because she's a lot of fun to work with.
02:58 Any interesting scene behind the scene during the shooting?
03:02 Any interesting thing behind the scene?
03:04 Yes. During the shooting, there?
03:06 Well there's something interesting happening every day behind the scene but I can't think of one particular incident you're talking about.
03:13 I can tell you something on camera that happened basically that's interesting.
03:19 Like we were doing the climax scene and I had to give her the cue. It was her close-up.
03:26 I had to give her two lines and she had to react to it. But nobody said cut.
03:31 So I went on with my dialogue and I said the whole page and she kept reacting and she began emoting and started crying on her own.
03:39 So that came out very naturally. That's something I can remember.
03:42 As an actress, how far do you feel that you've matured from Refugee?
03:48 What kind of changes have you noticed in your acting?
03:54 I think it's too soon. I've just done one film so I don't know how much I've matured.
03:58 I guess that the audiences will be able to judge.
04:01 But at least I can say it's different what I did in Refugee and what I did here.
04:07 And this has been a learning experience.
04:10 You started your career with a newcomer and then again a newcomer. How does it feel?
04:15 I think today's generation, today's time is the time of newcomers.
04:20 We have so many new faces and today is the young generation.
04:23 I think the audiences have accepted newcomers with open arms.
04:28 So here we have another one who is very promising.
04:31 How is it working with Tushar?
04:33 Tushar is very confident and very natural.
04:36 I've known him ever since I was a kid.
04:38 So when Vashuji came to me to sign a film with Tushar, it was a lot of excitement for me.
04:43 Because we've been friends from before.
04:45 What kind of tips have you been receiving from the people as far as acting is concerned?
04:51 As far as acting is concerned, I don't think anybody has given me much of tips.
04:57 I think I just follow what I think is right and what the audiences would like to see on me.
05:02 How satisfied are you with your performances day after day?
05:07 I think it's with the experiences of life, I think every human being grows.
05:12 So you use those experiences and use them in your performances.
05:16 That's a good way to put it.
05:18 Tushar, could you tell me at first day of shooting, how was the experience?
05:21 It was fun. In fact, we had a photo session before the shooting started.
05:25 So I was used to working with Kareena already.
05:29 So when the scenes began, it went on pretty well.
05:32 How is it working with Satish Kaushik?
05:35 Satishji is an actor himself.
05:38 So being an actor himself, he knows how to extract the right performance from the artist.
05:45 And it's been great fun working with him because I don't need to say, he's such a great and a fun human being.
05:53 Could you tell me your personal favourite song from this film of yours?
05:57 My personal favourite song is, I think, 'Dupatta'. That's my song.
06:03 Why 'Dupatta'?
06:05 Firstly, because it's my song, so I'm going to be partial to myself.
06:08 And I think it's nice because everybody's going to like it because it's different and I'm dancing in it for the first time.
06:15 So the audience will also enjoy that kind of a song to see me dance in that way.
06:21 Kareena, you dance very beautifully, very comfortably. So how much rehearsal do you do for this?
06:26 No rehearsal. For this song, it was just on the set.
06:31 However, the composer, what he feels will look good on you.
06:34 So, Emma choreographed it in a wonderful way because I've been very comfortable in whatever movements he was giving me.
06:41 Kareena, you've had a film like 'Youth Refugee' for six months.
06:48 How far do you think it's important to have a gap between two films for a new cover?
06:54 I think it is important because, firstly, the audience has to digest and accept the fact that you're here in the industry.
07:02 And especially for me, in my first film, the performance was more important and it was a serious kind of film.
07:09 So it took time for me to make up my mind and decide that this would be the right kind of a film in which the audience would like to see me.
07:17 So it took six months in the making.
07:20 Are there any specific directors, like kind of directors, that you would like to work with?
07:24 Any specific kind of roles or film makers you would like to work with?
07:29 I guess I'd just like to work with all the makers who put in all the effort and finally want to make a good product.
07:36 That's what's important. I'd like to work with them.
07:39 As far as meaningful cinema is concerned, what do you think?
07:42 I think I started with meaningful cinema, so I'm open to that in every way.
07:46 I'm not going to be like I only want to do fancy kind of films and things like that.
07:51 I'd like to definitely do a film with Shyam Benegal. I'm open to it.
