00:10 >> Hello, I'm Nathan Judime here with Wolves of Porter.
00:11 It is Mr. Liam Keane.
00:12 Liam from Turf Moor.
00:14 Final score, Burnley 1, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1.
00:17 On the balance of play, you said that was a pretty fair result.
00:22 >> Yeah, probably just about.
00:24 Not the prettiest of games.
00:25 >> No. >> Two sides who,
00:26 I think you tweeted at one point, said either side could concede here,
00:29 rather than either side could score, which I think was the right way to phrase it.
00:32 >> Correct, yeah.
00:34 >> There wasn't a lot of quality in the game.
00:35 >> No. >> But there was a lot of hairy moments.
00:37 There was a lot of moments where you thought, yeah, this wasn't, you know.
00:40 Whether it's- >> Heart in mouth.
00:41 >> Yeah, heart in mouth moments.
00:43 And it wasn't a vintage performance from Wolves by any means.
00:46 >> No. >> But they had good moments within it.
00:47 The frustrating thing in the first half is that Wolves had probably a ten,
00:50 15 minute foul where they were totally in control.
00:53 Dominating possession, creating good chances, and
00:55 didn't get anywhere near taking any of those chances.
00:57 And that's when you have to capitalize.
00:59 And then on 37th minute, Burley scored.
01:01 And then at that point you think, right, Wolves have thrown their opportunity
01:05 when they were in the ascendancy.
01:06 It's a really well taken goal from Larsen for Burley, but
01:10 absolutely awful defending from Wolves point of view.
01:13 One Daro Shea cross field ball,
01:15 Samedo completely loses Larsen at the back post.
01:19 Somebody who's been so consistent this season in Samedo.
01:21 But back to bad habits there in defending the back post,
01:24 what we've seen in the Wolves' shirt before.
01:26 And really fought to allow them to score.
01:29 And Wolves were fortunate, albeit a really good moment of quality,
01:32 to get back in before halftime.
01:34 >> Yeah, look, I mean, Pablo Sarabia, I thought, again,
01:36 was a bit of a passenger today.
01:37 >> Absolutely. >> Overall.
01:38 >> Yeah. >> And obviously got taken off in
01:39 the second half.
01:40 But it was his ball, and Ryan Anoe, whose header was brilliantly placed,
01:44 wasn't it?
01:44 >> Yeah, look, Sarabia's been really frustrated, I think the last two or
01:47 three games.
01:48 Totally off it.
01:49 Looks isolated, losing the ball every time it gets to him.
01:54 Poor first touches, hitting the first man with crosses and set pieces.
02:00 But then one bit of quality,
02:01 he lifts a lovely free kick in with his left foot.
02:03 And that's what he can do.
02:04 And Anoe's in the right place at the right time.
02:06 It's a cushioned and perfect, accurate header into the far post.
02:10 And Wolves are out of nowhere, really, going in the 45th plus three minutes,
02:14 scoring an equalizer, and going to halftime drawing.
02:16 And then you hope that they can build from that in the second half.
02:19 And yet they had moments again, definitely.
02:21 But they relied on Jose Sartre to get them out of it.
02:23 >> With two or three big saves.
02:25 >> They did, yeah.
02:25 I was gonna say Jose Sartre, I think, on the night,
02:28 was probably the man of the match.
02:29 I thought he made some very important saves.
02:31 And like I say, probably more about the displays,
02:33 that the goalkeeper is probably the man of the match.
02:36 They did have some excellent chances, the Wolves in themselves.
02:39 I mean, look, Jao Gomez had a really good chance with that header.
02:42 I think from Doc's header to Jao Gomez.
02:45 He puts that on target, Wolves go up.
02:47 But we've got to talk about that Raino Nuri chance.
02:49 Because, look, he's been fantastic right at the end.
02:52 I think one of the most important players for Wolves this season.
02:55 He's been superb, obviously scored.
02:58 But we talked about the Asim Vilar chance when he missed that.
03:01 That was a pivotal moment.
03:03 I mean, he literally wandered through the Bergen defence, cut through.
03:07 He could have quite easily squared it.
03:09 But I mean, he could have scored as well.
03:10 And like, you just cannot give the keeper a chance in that situation.
03:14 If you're gonna take the chance to shoot and not square it,
03:18 you've got to score.
03:18 And he didn't.
03:19 And that's a massive moment in this game, unfortunately.
03:21 Yeah, it really is.
03:22 It's obviously one of that sort of right at the beginning of the second half.
03:25 It's a lovely wall from Max Killmann, by the way.
03:27 A really, really intelligent pass.
03:29 Eindhoven sort of bundles his way through, shrugs off a defender.
03:33 And he's thrown gold.
03:34 I've never quite seen someone throw on gold that easily with such a...
03:38 Because there were still a lot of players in the box.
03:39 And yet it just opened like you can see.
03:41 And Burley just switched off completely.
03:43 And he's there with the goal gaping.
03:44 And unfortunately, we didn't have a replay in front of us here.
03:47 But from memory, I think he goes with his left foot.
03:50 And I think if he opens himself up onto his right foot,
03:52 rolls that into the bottom corner, that should be 2-1.
03:54 Or could have laid it off.
03:54 Or laid it... Yeah, exactly.
03:55 And he was 5-6 yards out again with no one else around him.
03:59 And considering, look, Aiton Norris, he just said there at the top of that question,
04:02 been absolutely magnificent for Wolves.
04:04 He's red-hot for them at the moment.
04:05 Three goals and four gains for him now.
04:06 Should have been 4-4 scoring against Villa if he put that chance away.
04:09 And he saved Wolves a point here.
04:13 At the same time, cost them two.
04:16 He's such an important player.
04:17 One of the standouts alongside Sarr, I think, in terms of performance tonight.
04:21 But regardless of how good he's been, you have to put that away.
04:24 And you put that away, that's three points.
04:25 Yeah, 100%.
04:26 And I'm sure he'll know that.
04:27 And Gary O'Neill will know that.
04:29 And the fans definitely know they're quite frustrated.
04:30 I think leaving tonight, I guess the big positive apart from,
04:34 I guess picking up the point and some of the displays out there tonight,
04:36 or at least a couple of them, was the return of Mateus Cunha, who came on.
04:39 I think it was obviously, definitely, 75 minutes.
04:42 It was 15 minutes plus injury and nothing more.
04:45 And we saw him in the 75th minute introduced.
04:47 And you could just tell, look, he came on from a little early on to where we are.
04:50 Very difficult to talk about someone like that,
04:52 because I don't think anyone expected him to be playing senior football at this moment in time.
04:56 Difficult night for him, and you can understand it.
04:59 At the same time, when you have a Brazilian international who comes on for you,
05:03 you could just tell when he was on the pitch, there was a calmness.
05:06 Some of the touches were great.
05:08 There was almost a great chance, I think, where he put through a common who he put through.
05:12 Right, I don't know.
05:14 Was it 8-0 in some Bucatrola?
05:16 Yeah, I think it was.
05:18 But you could just tell the lines that he's running.
05:20 It just gives this team a much-needed boost.
05:23 He's going to be crucial, I think, between now and the end of the season.
05:26 Whether we see more of him from the start against West Ham,
05:29 I think unlikely, because we didn't see half an hour tonight.
05:33 But at the same time, if you can get half an hour West Ham
05:35 and then maybe start against Nottingham Forest,
05:37 that's who we need back on the pitch.
05:38 And hopefully, Wang Yiqian, not too soon after that.
05:41 Yeah, he's definitely creeping up on returning as well.
05:45 He gave the fans a lift once he came on, gave the players a lift.
05:49 Exactly what you just said, to echo what you just said.
05:52 Really intelligent, just lovely awareness, positioning,
05:55 picked the ball up, little flicks around the corner.
05:57 Wasn't incredibly involved in terms of maybe impact on the final third
06:03 or having any shots or anything like that,
06:05 but just those little signs of that quality that was needed.
06:08 And that's what they missed, isn't it?
06:09 To feel back on the pitch, get the grass and feel it.
06:12 The kind of injuries he's had, he needs a little bit of time to have that.
06:15 And we saw that in glimpses.
06:16 So the good side is we saw the player that we know is there
06:20 and we have seen this season.
06:21 We didn't see someone who came on and struggled.
06:23 And that's the good side of it.
06:25 I completely agree with you.
06:26 Probably unlikely to start against West Ham.
06:27 Probably if you can get in 45, half an hour 45,
06:30 depending on how the game goes,
06:33 and then aim to that Forest game for a start.
06:36 It's going to be really important in the running.
06:37 Yeah, which obviously gives you the dilemma,
06:39 who are you going to start up front against West Ham?
06:41 Look, a lot of the fans will leave here tonight and they'll go,
06:45 "Well, OK, you're talking about a decent point or an OK point."
06:47 We've come to 19th place Burnley, the 19th for a reason.
06:50 We should be going to places like this
06:51 if you want European football and winning.
06:53 What would you say to that?
06:55 I would say they've got a point.
06:56 At the same time, it's not an easy...
06:57 They have.
06:58 Yeah.
06:59 It's also not an easy place to come.
07:00 The crowd were up for it tonight.
07:02 Burnley played well in spells,
07:05 but equally struggled with a bit of quality.
07:07 I think that's fair to say.
07:08 They could have edged it, potentially, in terms of performance,
07:11 but I think it was probably about right.
07:12 I think if you're a Burnley fan, you feel slightly frustrated
07:14 that they've come away with a point tonight.
07:16 Yeah, exactly.
07:17 And look, yes, Wolves want to get into Europe and have those ambitions,
07:23 but at the same time, they've got what they've got in terms of squad.
07:26 There's not many players there.
07:27 There's not a lot of depth.
07:29 There's a lot of injuries.
07:31 It's a good point on the balance of where they're at at the moment.
07:35 Is it a good enough point for Europe?
07:38 Heinz will tell us that.
07:40 Possibly not.
07:42 Well, it's probably tomorrow we'll be talking more about this one.
07:44 Final score tonight from Surf Moor.
07:46 It is a Burnley 1, Wolverhampton 1-1.
