00:00 Super Tram is back in public ownership again for the first time today in 27 years.
00:10 It's being run by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, having been operated by the private company Stagecoach for the last 27 years.
00:22 So we're going to try the tram and see what it's like.
00:26 Well I didn't have to wait at all for the tram, I'd only been at the stop for a couple of minutes and I'm on the tram and heading to Meadowhall.
00:40 It's a good start and it's a day rider ticket that I've got which cost me £4.90 and apparently that's a 10% discount as it was previously and I can use it all day.
00:53 Well I've arrived at Meadowhall and it's 12 minutes past 10 so it's taken me less than half an hour to get here and it was a good experience.
01:04 It was quite a straightforward journey, it wasn't particularly packed, there was plenty of seating available for me.
01:14 The only gripe would be that the sign that says what the next stop is due to be was stuck on Leppings Lane which wasn't a route that we were going through.

01:32 An extra bonus today is when I was on the tram I was also given a free tote bag.

01:55 So that's my tram journey over, I've got off the tram again and I've found it to be a decent journey and I think a lot of people on there were very pleased that the journey was cheaper.

02:14 The trams themselves look very similar but other than that, uniforms I think are the same that are being worn by the staff and I understand the machines that the staff are using have also changed but it's very very similar.
